Is Bob Stupak Executing the Full Nelson?

Senator Ben Nelson (D. Neb) was the staunchly anti-abortion senator that could not compromise his anti-abortion stance and allow federal funding of abortions. At least, not without a good chunk of change for his state to ensure he had a bragging point for his next campaign. Well, after he tapped out of the match under the pressure of a half-Nelson, it appears the next Democrat with principles won't be so easily swayed. Representative Bart Stupak (D. Mich.) was the author of the now-famous Stupak amendment, banning federal funding for abortions from the House bill. Now he's levied the charge that the White House and Democratic leadership are trying to silence him regarding the abortion language in the Senate bill. Stupak claims to have sufficient votes to sabotage the required compromise between the House and Senate bills if the abortion language remains as it is in the Senate version.
Will Stupak execute the full Nelson? Or will he sneak off into the night with a bribe under his coat and his supposed morality in his pocket? One can only hope he has a backbone and can stop this bill cold.

Oncologist Diagnosis Countries Cancer, Decides He'd Rather be Part of the Cure

Congressman Parker Griffith (D. Ala.) is now Congressman Parker Griffith (R. Ala.). Congressman Griffith is a radiation oncologist who quit the Democratic party saying "I believe our nation is at a crossroads and I can no longer align myself with a party that continues to pursue legislation that is bad for our country, hurts our economy, and drives us further and further into debt." Looks like Dr. Griffith can still spot a cancer when he sees one.

How Do I Brainwash Thee? Let Me Count the Ways

Ah, the sweet, cuddly Build-a-Bear, which you can order online and have custom made to brainwash your child about global warming. It just makes you all warm and gooey inside, like you want to vomit.

Time to Slaughter the Doggies

The sustainable living morons have come to the conclusion that pet dogs are more of a threat to the planet than those evil, evil, inanimate but evil, SUV's. In fact, all pets are evil and destructive to the planet. The authors of the studies suggest the only sustainable way to have pets is if you intend to eat them.
So now we officially have it. All animal life is bad for the planet. Since plants rely on animals for CO2, the only logical conclusion is that the environmental movement has finally come to the conclusion that life is an unsustainable condition. I suggest we test the theory by starting to euthanize environmentalists.

Well, At Least I'll Know Who to Hang Out With When I Go to Jail

Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D. RI), has leveled the accusation that opponents of health care are a bunch of right-wing, Aryan brotherhood, hate mongers who hate President Barack Obama because he's black. I had no idea I was such a piece of crap, but it's nice to see Jeanine Garofalo is still working, apparently as his speechwriter.
When they put me in jail for refusing to pay the fine for not buying health insurance that underwrites abortions, I'll know that I belong with the Nazi's over in the corner working out all day. I suppose the fact that I disagree with every opinion the Aryan nation has ever expressed doesn't matter, I opposed health care, so I must be pining for a return to slavery. Just one more Senator that needs to learn about unemployment.

God Bless the Internet and Free Speech

A Florida woman has launched a website, http://www.mycongressmanisnuts.com/, in an effort to speak out against Congressman Alan Grayson (D. Fla.). Grayson has requested the attorney general, Eric Holder (who refuses to prosecute liberal criminals), to pursue jail time for the woman who launched the website. Even in a civil matter, Mr. Grayson would do well to remember that truth is an absolute defense. Grayson has recently become well known for his idiotic outbursts such as saying the Republican health plan was to die quickly, told MSNBC's Chris Matthews that former Vice President Dick Cheney should "shut the fuck up" (perhaps a precursor showing his respect for free speech), referred to a female lobbyist as a "K Street Whore" (though I amazingly agree with his position on auditing the Fed), and read the names of those who have died of that supposedly terminal condition called lack of health insurance. On a strictly personal note and not addressing his actual stance on anything, he eerily looks like the kind of guy who would call everyone George and can't be trusted petting small animals (yes, there is irony that I say he should shut up, but that's mostly for his own good and he's using speech for simply inflammatory (see "Fighting Words Doctrine") purposes).
As I said, truth is an absolute defense. Considering the history of this administration, though, I wouldn't be too surprised to see Holder move on this. I'll be donating to her legal defense fund if he does.

What's the Prognosis, Doc? Well, You're Suffering From Lack of Insurance. Oh, No! How Long Do I Have?

In passing at the crack of pre-dawn the first of what I understand to be three votes to move towards cloture on the Senate health care bill along strictly partisan lines 60-40, the Democrats have settled in on their fate for the 2010 elections. (Seriously, how bad is the bill that the two Maine Senotards Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe won't vote for it?) They will likely live or die by the memory of the voting public 10 months from now.
Defending the bill, Senate Majority Leader Harry Ried (D. Nev.) spoke about individual Nevadans (because apparently progressives believe that consensus opinion (global warming) and anecdotal stories are valid scientific evidence) who have suffered at the hands of insurance companies. Specifically, Dirty Harry said that "...an American dies from lack of health insurance every 10 minutes." When you're agreeing with Congressman Alan Grayson (D. Fla.), you know you're either lying or in trouble from an intellectual stance.
I had no idea the coroner could mark lack of health insurance as a cause of death. I wonder what the symptoms are? I would guess a sense of heat on the back of your neck and a sense of vague unease that Congress is looking over your shoulder. Health insurance does not guarantee good health. You can have health insurance and contract a fatal disease. You can get sick without health insurance and receive treatment.
The rhetoric on the left defies all logic. Either they aren't passing this bill for the reasons they state, or their brains are operating on a level barely sufficient to control their autonomic functions. I wonder how many citizens in the United Kingdom die each year from the affirmative act of government bureaucracies which deny coverage making it literally unavailable anywhere unless you're rich enough to leave the country for treatment. We have sitcoms about baby's born in odd situations because there wasn't time to get them to the hospital. They have stories about babies born in the hallways, office, toilets and elevators of their hospitals.
I just heard liberal commentator Bob Beckel on the Fox morning program note that a number of Democratic congressman are retiring and don't have to worry about the political consequences of their vote. Well, thank God we live in a representative democracy where the representatives doen't have to worry about being accountable. The fact that he can say that alluding to it as a good thing is disgusting.

The Most Corrupt Piece of Legislation in United States History

Not my line, but it fits, especially given the $300 million Louisiana Purchase which has now been followed by Senator Ben Nelson (R. Neb.) finally finding the number his conscience could live with, a Medicare buyout similar to that Seantor Mary Landrieu (D. La.) got. The future of this country is very much in doubt. Hell, the Chinese are already indicating that there is no more money to loan to the U.S. Do you think the idiots at the CBO estimate the cost to the federal government when the states (which will see massive expenses from this bill, hence the two buyouts) can't foot the bill? I'd like to see these two Senators jailed for accepting bribes.
Just a thought here, but if the bill was so good, and the savings so sure, why would any of this be necessary?

Considering the Imminent Doom, Everyone Seems Remarkably Calm

If you listen to the global warming hysterics, you'd think the surface of the Earth were about to burst into flames at any moment. U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who is seemingly about to be given a vote of no confidence at any given time, gave us just 50 days to save the world. Prince Charles was a bit more cautious, giving us seven years.
I was listening to a talk format liberal station on the way back from work (yes, I try to listen to all sides, plus, I get a good laugh out of that station). The apparent failure to get a binding agreement by which the U.S.A. would sacrifice its sovereignty and large amounts of its citizen's incomes to foreign powers was being treated like a funeral. There was dire talk about the fate of the planet and quiet optimism we could still save it. The near PBS decibel commentators spoke of an Earth no longer recognizable in just a thousand years as men will have disappeared from her surface. There was even talk about how the U.N. had understated the temperature increases it estimated in the coming years to prevent panic and that the reality was certainly two and a half times the numbers being handed out. There was talk of how, soon enough, they'd be having climate conferences on the tops of mountains as they watched the rising seas swirl up beneath them.
The guys on the radio sounded sincere, and he really came off as a good guy, legitimately concerned. I feel sorry for him. The good news is, if he believes all that crap, then he's probably looking forward to a visit from Santa soon.

Another Bombshell Dropped on Man Made Global Warming Theory

A Russian institute has accused the U.K.'s Hadley Centre of ignoring climate date from 40% of Russia, or roughly 1/8th of the Earth's total landmass. The Institute stated that the exclusion of the data results in a significant exaggeration of the effects of global warming. The claim is being disputed, but given the recent revelations through leaked e-mails from East Anglia and the constant effort to explain the innocence of those involved, I'm inclined to side with the Russian institute.

Home Sweet Home

Louisiana rated as happiest state in this article. We have booze, music, the best food and the most unique culture in the United States. When clean, New Orleans may be the prettiest city in the United States (mostly the architecture downtown and the historical Garden District). We have a rich history under three governments (four if you count the Confederacy). There's a reason I love where I live. Nice to see some outside affirmation on that.

I Wonder if They'll Send Us Letters for Our Generous Donation

You remember the commercials about how you can sponsor a starving child in a third world country for just pennies a day? Well, congratulations! The Obama administration is willing to commit the U.S.A. to creating a $100 billion yearly payout to poorer countries to help them fight global warming. For any of you living in Detroit, Michigan, the United States doesn't have its own money, it has yours. You probably still don't get it, but there, I've laid it out as simply as I can. Personally, I'll be contacting the IRS to see how much of this I'm allowed to deduct from my taxes as a charitable donation.

If history tells us anything (and clearly, this administration believes in total ignorance of history based on their FDR approach to the economy), money sent to the majority of these countries will end up in the personal banking accounts of their leaders. Charles Krauthammer correctly referred to most of these regimes as "kleptocracies" (I highly recommend reading the full article), a fantastic word which I hope enters the lexicon immediately. Worse yet, the "developing countries" list includes China and India and the Middle East, countries that are loaning us money at the moment. So, what the administration proposes (as the federal deficit and the national debt both explode) is borrowing money from China and India and the Middle East so that they can give it back to them to cut carbon emissions in an effort to appease the gods of bad science.
I'm almost convinced that this administration is so ignorant that if we could convince them that sacrificing a virgin in a volcano was a "consensus" solution to global warming, they'd be on the lookout for the first one they could find.

Al Franken Shows the Class and Style Which Has Epitomized His Career

Senator Al Franken (D., Minn.) was chairing the Senate as debate was being held on the health care bill. Senator Joe Lieberman (I., Conn.) was speaking about amendments he was planning to offer to the bill. Sen. Lieberman had prattled on for 10 minutes when Sen. Franken cut him off saying he'd reached the limit. Lieberman requested the customary unanimous consent to an extra few moments to wrap up. When no voice in the chamber could be heard to object, Sen. Franken (who I am convinced stole the Minnesota election with the help of ACORN) raised the objection in his capacity as Senator to cut off Lieberman. The reaction from both Lieberman and Senator John McCain (R. AZ) shows how unprecedented this kind of thing is. Of course, Al Franken is just living up to his reputation.

Time to Pack Up and Head Home

Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez was a raging success at the Copenhagen climate farce where he spoke out against the evils of capitalism. Do we really have any business being at a conference that celebrates a modern despot? Much less should we follow these idiots into the abyss? Pack up our delegates and bring them home. Obama can go give his "shout out"s to his dictatorial homeys (I'm disturbed that spell check had the proper spelling of that word) if he wants, but let's stop giving this any semblance of legitimacy.

President Obama : Stop Using My Own Tactics Against Me, You Meanies!!!

Recently President Obama told Republicans to stop scaring the American people. Yesterday, President Obama told ABC news that the federal government would go bankrupt, employers would load up costs on individuals, premiums would rise and that many employers would drop coverage all together. If I didn't know any better I'd think it was Bill Murray from Ghostbusters where he starts talking about the apocalypse. The Moron-in-Chief then pointed towards the inevitable collapse of Medicare and Medicaid to make his point that government should take over the rest of health care.
Now excuse me for the next few hours while I curl up in the fetal position and rock back and forth.

Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics

Most every report I've heard recently has referred to the President's tanking popularity in polls. In fact, Rasmussen, as of yesterday (12/16/09) had the president's approval rating at 45% and his disapproval rating at 54%. Imagine my surprise (or more appropriately, my utter lack of surprise) to read that the Associated Press polling data showing President Obama holding strong at a 56%. I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say I trust Rasmussen more than the AP.

A Bit of Slight of Hand?

Recently, the EPA declared CO2 (you know, that gas without which all plants on Earth would die and subsequently there would be no oxygen for animals to breathe and all life would cease to exist, yeah that CO2) to be a dangerous gas in order to give it the authority to regulate CO2 emissions. Presumably, this was an end run around a Congress failing to take swift action on cap and trade legislation so that the Obama administration could use the bureaucracy to circumvent the legislature. (Note that this would have previously been strictly forbidden by our Supreme Court prior to the sudden change after FDR's court packing scandal. While FDR failed, a cowed Supreme Court started finding his depression era programs suddenly constitutional.)
There may be a more sinister slight of hand at work here, however. The EPA made it's CO2 finding public the opening day of the Copenhagen Climate Summit. Many still believed this was meant to force Congress to take action and to show Copenhagen that our lord and savior Barack Obama was willing to take immediate action, peace be upon him. I think they were wrong. By issuing this finding, the EPA may be allowing President Obama to circumvent the Constitution in another manner, specifically by abrogating the requirement that 2/3 of the Congress approve any treaty under Article 2 Section 2. Essentially, the Administration would sign on to the Copenhagen Treaty, then, rather than submitting the treaty to Congress for approval, it would utilize the EPA findings on greenhouse gases to implement the binging portions of the treaty through the administrative rule making process and the EPA itself.
While, strictly speaking, my own analysis finds this to be unconstitutional to the degree that the treaty would create a world body with enforcement powers over the U.S., the EPA could effectively mirror any decisions from such a world body and administratively hand down punishment. We already know that President Obama sees the Constitution as a set of negative restrictions against government rather than the positive rights of citizens and that he thus only sees the Constitution as an obstruction to government power. Is it then unreasonable to think he might be looking for a manner to circumvent the Constitution in this manner? After all, look at his comments. Environmentalism is a matter of social justice and redistribution of wealth. President Obama feels the Civil Rights movement failed to address these issues by becoming to focused on the courts (see the linked comments). I have no doubt that he would want to implement his visions of social justice and redistribution through whatever mechanism possible.
I'll finish this off simply by saying that I hope I'm wrong.

Don't Panic.....OK, Panic.

If this report from the Weekly Standard proves true, it is disturbing to say the least. Apparently the Obama administration has threatened Senator Ben Nelson (D. Neb.), who is threatening to hold out on voting for the health care bill due to tax payer funded abortions, by telling him they would place Offut Air Force Base on the potential base closure list. Offut is the home of the US Strategic Command, where President Bush was secreted away during 9/11 and a key to our national defense. Is the administration willing to sacrifice strategic national defense to pass a health care bill that doesn't even have the support of the populace?

Morons Fought Using Unintended Irony

A group of people apparently too bummed out about the fate of the planet to shake off their depression and get jobs (though they amazingly always have the money to travel), otherwise called protestors, at the Copenhagen climate summit got a bit rowdy. In response, police fired tear gas at the crowds, presumably to protect the morons inside who are so worried about the fate of the planet due to carbon emmissions they decided to make a point by emitting more carbon than 2,300 Americans average in a year just to have the summit. Adding insult to injury, the primary component of tear gas is, you guessed it, carbon. Worse yet, all those excited people expending additional energy would naturally need to increase their respiration, resulting in further increased carbon dioxide emissions. If only these damned polluters had stayed home with their deadly, deadly carbon (basis of all life on this planet) maybe the reporters standing in line wouldn't be complaining so much about the cold....wait, that can't be right.

Keith Olbermann Continues to Demonstrate his Competence as a Sportscaster

MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann, who is roughly as anchored in reality as your average asylum inmate pumped full of Thorazine, has again demonstrated why he shouldn't be allowed to refer to his degree from the Agriculture and Life Sciences College as "Ivy League". Olbermann, who works for one of the biggest corporations in the world, GE, through NBC (though NBC is soon to be merged with Comcast, who's CEO came out in favor of health care coincidentally), which is tied in directly to the Obama administration, has decided that major media outlets, by nature of being owned by corporations, lean right and that thus, liberal media bias is a myth. I miss the days he hosted SportsCenter on ESPN. Maybe this is some Andy Kaufman-esque high art joke that no one gets.

Why I'm Rooting for the "Principled" Left Wing on Health Care

At one point, I was hopeful that some of the supposedly "conservative" Democrats might actually vote against the health care bill. I keep forgetting that a conservative Democrat is roughly the same as a unicorn. Senator Joseph Lieberman (I., Conn.) has apparently caved in response to the supposed elimination of any public option or expansion of the age requirements for Medicare. The defection of Lieberman (who is John McCain without his current streak of conservatism which came out of nowhere) to supporting the bill means that, assuming all Democrats vote in favor, they have the necessary 60 votes. Senator Susan Collins (RINO, Maine) has come out against the bill, so there's hope that the Republicans can stand together to prevent its passage, but Collins is probably just holding out for her own bribe similar to the Louisiana Purchase of Senator Mary Landrieu (D. La.).
Since I expect Susan Collins and her RINO mate from Maine, Senator Olympia Snowe, to eventually vote for the bill, I am now relying upon those principled morons, the far left, to vote down the bill, and I may have reason to hope. In fact, President Obama's replacement in the Senate, Roland Burris, has come out against any version of the bill that doesn't contain a public option. I expect that Burris will eventually cave as well, crushing my dreams. There may be reason to hold out hope as Howard Dean, former head of the Democratic National Committee and former psychotic candidate for President, has called for the Senate Bill to be killed.
Burris did, however, note something that Republicans would do well to remember in the future: "As Mohandas Gandhi once famously said 'all compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender."

I'd Gladly Have Your Grandchild Pay in 2045 for a Hamburger Today

The Senate, apparently overwhelmed by the holiday spirit of taxing and spending, has sent another spending bill to President Obama's desk totalling $1.1 trillion. Make no mistake, this load of crap is on both party's heads, though most of the weight falls on the Democrats (three Dems voted against, three Republicans for). We need Congress to appear on next weeks "Intervention".

Today's Recommended Reading

This article for American Thinker describes the author's theory on why some people who benefit so much from capitalism are the most ardent supporters of socialism. I think the author misses two other key elements: 1) the advocate of socialism believes that economics is a zero-sum game, one can only profit at the expense of another; and 2) once the system is frozen, their place in competition will become secure, e.g., the wealthy, large company, aligned with government, will face security as it will no longer have to face competition and those with pre-existing wealth will maintain that wealth in savings when incomes become equal. There is a third, more radical element that I ascribe to personally, that is, they're idiots.

Al a Gore Y

John Stossel made a very good point on his program this evening. His subject material was global warming and he showed an e-mail from the Goracle's office regretfully declining as the Goracle just doesn't have time to go on such programs. Then Stossel showed a clip from Saturday Night Live with the Goracle doing the nightly news. It's odd (not really, it's obvious) that the Goracle can't seem to make time to go on shows he might be challenged on and that he won't accept challenges to debate his views but he can make time to do shows that won't.

No Wonder He Won't Debate

Al Gore, who is ubiquitous as the climate negotiations in Copenhagen continue, put his ignorance on display as he spoke on NBC's Tonight Show about how, at 2km down, there are incredibly hot rocks because the Earth's core is millions of degrees, which would rival the core of the Sun. I suppose it's a good thing I live on the fifth floor otherwise I might be as hot as the surface of the sun, roughly 9800 degrees Fahrenheit. So, according to Al Gore, the Earth is a small star! No wonder it's getting so hot. The Earth is performing thermonuclear fusion as we speak! What an incredible discovery! Wait, I got that wrong. What an incredible asshole!
This idiot is supposed to be the Goracle? With his grades?

An Inconvenient Question...or More

Once again, climate scientist seem unwilling to engage in debate about their "consensus" that you mouth breathers out there are a threat to the climate unless you stop exhaling. This time, our hero, Phelim McAleer, a filmaker who made a skeptical film called "Not Evil, Just Wrong", attempted to question Professor Stephen Schneider his opinion on the "climategate" e-mails. In response, he was shut down by armed U.N. Security Guards (which is likely the most effective military action ever taken by the U.N.). Maybe he should have posed the question in the form of a poem.

Thank You Omniscient Leaders!!

Congress, clearly the grouping of the finest business minds in the country, what with needing to increase the national debt limit by a mere $1.8 trillion to accommodate their nearly unending ability to spend money (and do it now lest Americans get the mistaken impression Democrats have a spending problem come the 2010 elections), have thankfully made the first move in substituting their financial acumen into almost every aspect of financial markets. House Democrats, without a single Republican vote and 27 opposing Democrats (yay!), passed landmark financial regulation legislation today. I would like to personally extend my thanks to the idiots in Congress who think they're smarter than everyone else on the planet and know how to do everything better. When asked what basis the House had to pass the regulation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D. Cali.) yelled out "I AM THE LAW".

Mr. Vice President, You're No Lord Byron

Al "The Goracle" Gore waxed poetic earlier this week to a CNN reporter. You may remember the Vogons from "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" whose poetry was considered the third worst in the universe and was utilized as torture. I would estimate all Gore as a close 3A in those rankings. I'm starting to root for apocalyptic global warming so I don't ever have to hear from this asinine piece of crap ever again. Give me death's sweet release over Al Gore's nonsense.

Apocalypse Now

It seems that it is almost inevitable at this point that Congress will ignore the will of the people once again, as they did on the "stimulus" package, TARP and the omnibus spending bill, and will get a health care package to President Obama to sign before the State of the Union address in January. I cannot think of a time in our country when the elected representatives have been so unresponsive to clear public opinion. I don't think it is going to far to say that if, and likely when, this monstrosity passes, it will be a tragedy for our constitutional republic.

The Best Indication that Something May be Going Wrong with Your Presidency

Politico reports that a recent poll shows that only 50% of respondents prefer having Barack Obama as President versus George W. Bush. Further, 44% of those polled actually preferring to have Bush back in office. Now think about this for a minute. GW left office with the approval rating of a rabid bat, or roughly 10% higher than that of Congress, and now, Captain Hope I Still Have Some Change When He's Done is barely preferable in the eyes of these poll respondents. Fonzi is heading towards the ramp, let's see if he jumps the shark.

In Case You Hadn't Already Sold Those GE Stocks

Jeff Immelt, leader of a corporation whose evil is only exceeded by Disney, gave a speech on how government involvment in industry is good and profits are bad (admittedly, he didn't directly say the second of those, but it's pretty obvious). OK, I get it. He's a lackey of the administration. Perhaps Obama is fisting him.
What I don't get, is why the hell is this man speaking at West Point.

No Seriously, It's About the Science...

The first is a four minute film which opened the Copenhagen climate summit. Notice the not so subtle call to brainwash your kid and get them active in the lack of a debate.
The second is equally disturbing, with polar bears raining down from the sky, blood splatters and all, because Al Gore...I'm sorry, wait, what's that?....OK, someone not named Al Gore took a flight.
I'm betting we could drop the people who made the ad out of a plane and save some CO2. Do you see that this has never been about the science?

And Just for the Kiddies

An additional, brief post as I was basically stunned into silence yesterday by what's going on (there's way too much for me to cover here), this annoying little tidbit showed up. Get your kid a Barack Obama pencil and notebook!! At what point can we start playing the Soviet national anthem? It sounded pretty decent in "The Hunt for Red October". Now where were those New Zealand real estate listings....

Name That Denier!!

Take your pick. Am I, your humble host (and I'm pretty sure from the comments section I'm using "your" in the singular) a denier in that I don't believe in anthropogenic global warming or is the UN a denier because it says the case is settled and there is no room for doubt? I'm going to go with the UN. Mission 2012, let's withdraw from the UN, an organization that has achieved nothing but corruption throughout its history.

Finally!! Barbara Boxer and I Agree on Something

Senator Barbar Boxer (D. Cal.) has said something that strikes a chord with me. No, she didn't admit she's a moron. While debating an amendment to bar tax payer funds from going to abortions, Senator Boxer compared a denial abortion coverage to a denial of coverage for Viagra. I agree totally. I don't think taxpayer funds should go to either. If you can't get it up anymore, I don't want to pay for it, and I've no interest in paying for a contraceptive abortion either. There are times where an abortion is necessary, but I'm not willing to let the government decide when that might be and then force me to pay for it.

Senator Harry Reid, Statesman, Scholar, and as Eloquent as Ted Kennedy (Now, Not a Few Months Ago)

Senator Harry Reid (D. Nev.), apparently in an effort to show that there are no depths to which he will not sink, decided that if you're not in favor of health care, you're probably a fan of slavery and stood against civil rights. You may remember the people he compared Republicans and those who would say, hold on, slow down, regarding health care. People such as those who filibustered against civil rights, 80% of who were Democrats. Or perhaps people such as the KKK member, Robert Bird (D. Va.), or Strom Thrumond, who before becoming a Republican was a Democrat who fought against civil rights. Or you may remember that Democrat who freed the slaves....oh, I mean Republican President Abraham Lincoln. I'm really starting to get tired of this.

Well, Fisting is OK, Just Don't Mention God

I wasn't sure I even wanted to mention this story when I ran across it's first run, in which our Safe Schools Czar, Kevin Jennings, instructs kids on "fisting", presumably as a safe sex practice, but when the second story surfaced of handing out "fisting kits", I figured it was probably worth noting the continuing string of idiocy that can be associated with President Obama's appointees. How sick and how far outside of the norm can we possibly get? I could give a shit less what you do at home and with whom you do it as long as everyone is of age and consents. But this guy wants to bring this kind of thing into our schools so the little boys and girls will think it's everyday behavior. I'll make a deal. You can bitch about my religion invading on classrooms when you get your own morality out. This guy needs to be fired.

The Rebirth of the Soviet Dictatorship

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has acknowledged he has no plans of leaving office or giving up power any time soon, telling a questioner "Don't hold your breath." For those of you not familiar with Putin, he was president of Russia until he ran up against term limitations and then basically appointed himself Prime Minister while stuffing current figurehead Dmitry Medvedev into his former office. Putin is likely to return to the office of President, as he is again eligible for the post. Putin, who is former K.G.B., is a man in the mold of the old, hard liners, having jailed political opponents, and he is suspected of being involved in the poisoning of former Russian spy and outspoken opponent Alexander Litvinenko. If Obama is the new Jimmy Carter, the next president is going to be Reagan-esque and Russia is sliding back towards dictatorship, does this mean the Talking Heads will be reuniting?

And the Beat Goes On...

Looks like "climategate" may be rowing across the Atlantic to our home shores as the author of "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism" is poised to sue NASA over two years of failure to release information pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act request. More interesting in the article, however, is that NASA seems to have been recalculating their temperature data for the last few years to the point that 1934 keeps getting hotter and colder. Call me crazy, but if we're going to run around claiming the globe is warming and we're all doomed, shouldn't we be able to accurately determine the temperature for a year in which we have documentation?

I Wonder if She Knew Michael Chricton

Once again, Ann Coulter hits the nail on the head in rather succinct fashion, showing how global warming is a false religion. Sounds familiar to me...

Stop!! HAMMER TIME!!

Well, that title is a bit of a reach. Even people who bought MC Hammer records are too old to remember that reference. In any case, it's time to shut down Cap and Trade, Copenhagen and all the other asinine leap first, ask questions later, fraudulent science-induced, fear-mongering, international government inducing....well, you get the point. Action on climate change has to cease now. Five members of the Australian government resigned their posts because they could no longer vote with their party on a cap and trade scheme and it was subsequently voted down by their parliament. In the meantime, Al Gore has consistently refused to respond to demands he debate skeptics since long before the "climategate" e-mails erupted. How can an entire planet be mislead by people without the courage to address their critics? We've known the hockey-stick graph utilized by the IPCC was bad science for decades, yet no one seemed to hesitate to use it, and it continues to pop up as if it was legitimate. Maybe it's time we put Al Gore where he belongs, in the defendant's chair in a federal courtroom with a charge of fraud.

Can We At Least Try a Tactic More Intelligent Than "I'm Rubber, You're Glue"?

Senator Barbara Boxer (D. Cali.), apparently in response to Senator James Inhofe's (R. OK) request for an investigation into the "climategate" e-mails, has taken the usual liberal everyone else is to blame but us tactic of crying out that the "hackers" should face criminal charges. So, just like the calls for investigations into the reporters who exposed the ACORN scandal, the people who uncover fraud are the guilty parties by liberal standards, with the fraudulent actors being the victims. I guess the massive expenditures set out on climate change research and the potential cap and trade legislation in various countries that has the potential to destroy economies isn't all that important to Sen. Boxer. Maybe she'll at least notice the criminal effort to destroy the e-mails in response to a Freedom of Information Act request, though that is more properly before the British authorities....come to think of it, so is the hacking.

Today's Recommended Reading

Politico has posted a great article on the seven stories that President Obama doesn't want told. They are not so much stories as they are ideas he doesn't want rooted in the American public's head, but they all strike a bit of a chord.

Another Interesting Development in "Climategate"

As a side note, can we stop calling scandal by a name that ends in gate? It sounds almost as moronic as Garland Robinette (a local talk radio host) calling the parties the "Demi-dont's" and "Republicant's". This is the kind of high criticism leveled by three year olds.
In any case, when Climategate first errupted onto the scene in the U.K., and trickled out through FOX News and the internet in the U.S., it was noted that some of the e-mails leaked were exchanges between the climate "scientists" and a reporter with the New York Times. The Times refused to publish the contents of the e-mails claiming, in part, that they were not written with the intention of being disclosed to the public. This is the same New York Times that published information on how the Bush Administration was attempting to track terrorism through a perfectly legal program. They also didn't seem to have much of a problem disclosing the Pentagon Papers.
Now it has come to light that prior to the general leak of the e-mails, the BBC had received copies months in advance and had simply sat on them. I have continued to search the mainstream media for mentions of the story in the United States and have yet to find anyone but FOX running any stories of significance, and they often paint the leaks in a far more negative light than the corrupt scientists. This shows the media is in bed with the liberal policy ideas behind global warming. I have trouble thinking of any other logical conclusion.
Another issue this raises that has far more interesting potential consequences in the long run is that, if the e-mails were released prior to the break in the story that occurred this month, it seems logical that it was someone on the inside, not a hacker, that released the information. If that is the case, then there would likely be no legal issue about how the information was obtained and there is potentially someone who can speak directly to the practices of this politicized research.

Playing the "Long Con"

Confidence (Con) Men run schemes that are referred to, at least in movies, often by the monikers "long con" or "short con". The guy doing three card Monty on the streets of New York is playing the short con. He's looking to make a little money fast. The long con is more akin to Bernie Madoff's ponzi scheme (or social security and medicare). Generally, the long con requires risk, time and money for a long term, higher payoff.
This article by Michael Barone of the Washington Examiner does as good a job as I've seen of spelling out the effects of the current regime's rampant spending and the problems it poses in a relatively consice manner. Given the obvious backlash that has been building against Democrats on these policies and their determination to forge ahead despite public opinion and logic standing in their way suggests they are playing at the long con. Nothing they are doing makes sense for a short term reward. It is only if they are looking down the road to a transformation of the society to something similar to European social democracy or even a more rigid communofascist regime do they stand a chance to succeed in entrenchment of power and position for the long term.
I could be wrong though; they may just be idiots.

Today I'm Thankful That I Don't Live in North Dakota

A brief article on American Thinker exposes Senator Kent Conrad (D. ND) and his disregard for opposing viewpoints as a 22 year veteran of the Army and father of soldier killed in Iraq addresses his comment regarding the trial of Khalid Sheik Mohammed in New York in which he said: "If people don't believe in our system, maybe they ought to go somewhere else." Perhaps Senator Conrad and the administration should take their own advice and rather than trying to change America into a European cradle to grave social democracy they should just move to Europe.

Spending Money Like a Drunken Sailor

President Barack Obama with the help of Congress has managed to spend $3.5 trillion dollars in the first eight months of his presidency, shattering spending records along the way. I'm actually somewhat encouraged by this. Judging from the number of parties he throws and the corresponding lavishness, I had thought $3.5 trillion was just the White House spending on social events.

Step Right Up and Whack a Conservative, Just a Few Dollars or a Little Bit of Your Time

Charges have finally been filed againstsix people involved in the beating of Kenneth Gladney, a conservative, outside of a health care town hall. Luckily, it shouldn't effect them too much as the charges are St. Louis County ordinance violations which are less than even misdemeanors. I suppose the next step is to have an event at the county fair where you get to beat up a conservative for a dollar, as long as you're a member of SEIU.

Oh, God, Please Make it Stop!!!

ABC has announced an Oprah/Obama Christmas special. I honestly think I'd prefer the Stalin-esque ubiquitous posters and statues. We probably are forced to see Obama more than the Chinese see Mao. Excuse me while I go vomit for a while.

Oops, Now Where Did I Leave that Tax-Exempt Status?

The now infamous ACORN seems pretty good at encouraging illegal activity, they just apparently failed to properly train their employees in document disposal. For example, Big Government reports that this item was left behind in an Oklahoma office vacated by ACORN. The tax-exempt, government funded organization is overtly partisan and political, two things which should keep it from being tax exempt or government funded. Keep in mind, the vote which defunded ACORN expired in October. They're back on the taxpayer teat. Wonderful.

All Quiet on the Western Front

With what is potentially the unveiling of the greatest scam ever pulled, i.e. global warming, swirling over the release of hacked e-mails from the East Anglia Climate Research University, the mainstream media is largely quiet. Glenn Beck reported tonight that studies had shown no other broadcast or cable news network had reported on the released e-mails. In the meantime, a search of internet news sites shows little reporting as well. This while the UK's Guardian and Telegraph papers have been busy reporting on the matter along with FOX News and Senator James Inhofe (R. OK) calls for a Congressional investigation. It seems awfully quiet for such big news.

The Louisiana Purchase

Earlier it seemed Senator Mary Landrieu (D. La.) voted for cloture on the Senate health care bill by negotiating $100 million in Medicaid relief for Louisiana. This bribe, which is quickly becoming known and mocked as "the Louisiana Purchase" in reference to the infamous deal with Napolean that handed the United States nearly twice its land holdings for a pittance, apparently wasn't $100 million after all. Mary proudly declared that the bribe or extortion, however you wish to view it, was worth $300 million (20 times the actual Louisiana Purchase). Luckily, Louisiana doesn't have a history of corruption....oh, wait.

The Highest Sacrement

What would you imagine is more important to a liberal, their religious faith or making sure women have unlimited access to abortions? The Kennedys have demonstrated for generations, and continue to demonstrate, that the holiest sacrement to any liberal is abortion. I don't expect that anyone should agree with their church on every issue, but the Catholic church has been very clear on their stance on abortion (and yet, ironically, Catholics are overwhelmingly liberals) and Catholic liberals have overwhelmingly rejected the Church on this position.

For Your Convenience We Have Removed Convenience

I stopped by my local post office to buy some stamps from the vending maching today. Instead, I found a sign which said that the machine had been removed for my convenience. So now, the only way to get stamps there is to sit through a line of about an hour and a half to buy $5 of stamps. Proving that the free market works better than government masquerading as free market, I left and went to a ocnvenience store which placed me with stamps in five minutes, drive time included. And yet, the Senate morons just voted to bring a government run health care bill to the floor of the Senate. Shoot me now.

If You've Had Sex Recently, Thank Global Warming

President Again Bungles in Foreign Arena

President Obama, whose foreign policy gaffes with allies borders on unfathomable, apparently screwed up his summit with the Japanese pretty badly. American Thinker is reporting on an apparent story in a Japanese magazine quoting an inside source who says this may be the worst Japanese-American summit ever.

Climate Warming Causes Scientists to Hallucinate About Climate Warming

It appears that the East Anglia Climate Research Unit was hacked and e-mails exposing the fraudulent nature of anthropogenic global warming claims and the sham research backing up those claims were released by the hacker. I would like to think this might serve as the final nail in the global warming debate, but as of 5:15 p.m. central, most news services in the United States don't appear to be carrying the story. We'll see how this develops in the coming days.
Giving credit where credit is due, my brother, Don Ladd, brought this to my attention.

Representative John Murtha, Man of the Century...Sort of....

Representative John Murtha (D. Pa.), he of the airport so corrupt it might actually be made of pork products, has firmly won my support for most egregiously putrid piece of crap Congressman of all time. I will admit, there are several contenders that could change my mind, but this incident, aired on the Glenn Beck program from a few years ago where Murtha blatantly ignores and kidnaps the will of the legislature seals the deal for me.

Nancy Pelosi Must Be One Gangsta Ass Bitch

The Reverend Jessie Jackson, proof that shit will stack about 6 feet high, has proclaimed that "You can't vote against health care and call yourself a black man." If all black men are in favor of health care does that mean its a stereotype? I'm sure Doctor King is spinning so fast in his grave he could be utilized as a lathe.

Holy Irony, Batman, She's a F**king Moron!!

Senator Mary Landrieu (D. La.), who is apparently receiving $100 million in pork tucked away in the Senate health care bill for her vote, has blasted through the boundaries of ignorance and shot straight to a level of idiocy so far reaching as to actually be beyond description. On her website appears this page, which decries the horrific, yet historically high, rating of Louisiana as the 47th worst state for health care. This is used to support the idea that the Senate health care bill takes steps in the right direction towards fixing the problem. Let's see, what does Louisiana have that would make this one of the most daring leaps of illogic ever performed? Oh, that's right, universal health care. No one in Louisiana faces a lack of access to health care because we have the state-operated charity system. So, clearly this means a federal universal care system must work, because its so effective in Louisiana......wait, that can't be right, Ms. Landrieu, can it? And thus I give you liberal logic.

It's Deja Vu All Over Again

Yogi Berra may well be the greatest American pholospher. The title of this post is one of his infamous quotes. If you think it has no relevance, I suggest you look at this article from Fortune Magazine. President Obama was famous for talking about those tired old policies that have been proven not to work during the campaign (which, if you look at Bush vs. Obama on domestic fiscal policy the difference is Bush was 8 on the blender speed and Obama is 10). Well, if you're going to look at tired old policies, look no further than President Obama's. He's following FDR's playbook (as well as Saul Alinsky's) like a bible. Yogi, born in 1925, probably is having flashbacks. Never forget: "We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work" - Henry Morgenthau Jr., Secretary of the Treasury under Franklin Delano Roosevelt (May 9, 1939, appearance before House Ways and Means Committee).

If You Can't Beat Them, Change the Rules of the Game

The Huffington Post has postulated that conservative books should have a separate category on the New York Times bestseller list. Considering the domination of conseravative books lately (and historically) I can understand their angst. Maybe there should be separate ratings for the cable news networks too. That way, when Keith Olbermann claims to be the most watched show on cable news, he won't have to restrict the demographic to relatives.

Cult Accused of Acting Like SEIU

Those of you who are close to me (yes, both my readers) know that besides my political tilt, I also obsess about the evil of the "Church" of Scientology and it's lord and savior, Tom Cruise. Germany has tried to ban Scientology for years and refuses to recognize it as a religion, and if there is any nation that goes out of its way to try and look tolerant 0f religions due to a guilt complex, its Germany. The "Church" was also convicted of fraud in France not so long ago. Now it looks like the Aussies are coming around with accusations of torture and forced abortions. There is a long history in the United States as well, including accusations of murder, "scrubbing" internet sites such as Wikipedia of negative press, torture, forced seclusion, brain washing, Mission Impossible I, II and III, Tom Cruise generally, John Travolta's return to film and Kirstie Alley all of which is evil. I strongly encourage the reader to check out the creepiness of the Tom Cruise Scientology video. In any case, feel free to write your congressman about stripping Scientology of its tax-exempt status.

Lives Created or Saved

This just in, President Obama is set to announce that the administration saved or created approximately 300 million Americans since the beginning of his presidency, roughly the U.S. population. While some skeptics have scoffed at the notion that the administration has created or saved the lives of each and every American citizen they find it impossible to dispute the fact that there are, indeed, approximately 300 million Americans still alive. In a related story the administration denounced Fox News for pointing out that there is absolutely no basis for the administration's claims with Communications Director Anita Dunn commenting "Clearly Fox News is a cartoon channel that does not produce news, merely one hour musical pieces starring loveable fat men with amazingly thin wives on Sunday nights." When it was pointed out to Anita Dunn that she might be referring to recent episodes of The Simpsons, Family Guy and other animated shows on the Fox broadcast network, Ms. Dunn stood by her assertion and then praised the quality investigative journalism of John Stewart, host of "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central, a subsidiary of NBC and GE. (Seriously, check the link, the last part is true.)

"Making Work Pay" Tax Credit Making People Pay Money They Didn't Expect

The largely unnoticed and innefective "tax credit" which the Obama administration refunded to many Americans will have to be paid back by most, though we largely knew this already. What I didn't know was the name of the program. It was called the "Making Work Pay" tax credit. Did work not pay before? Is it only through the benevolance of our governing bodies that work pays? Oh thank you, generous masters, for not taking the product of my labor. Or I should say, thank you for loaning it to me.

President No Longer Bothers to Open Mouth to Apologize

I'll let the Washington Times article say it on its own. My only comment is it is an embarassment to have our President bow before the Emperor of Japan after bowing to the Saudis and basically giving Queen Elizabeth a pat on the ass.

Continuing to Put Science in its Rightful Place, Firmly Under the Progressives Thumbs

As you may recall, one of the common criticisms of President George Bush was that he ignored science (i.e. global warming), which was also one of the bases for the many attacks on his intelligence. As part of his inaugural address, President Obama took a direct swipe at this perception saying that his administration would restore science to its rightful place.
The problem is, progressives such as our President and the current Democratic leadership believe that science is only correct if it agrees with their own perception. How many times have we heard "the time for denial is over", or its like? How many times have we heard people like Al Gore compare global warming skeptics "deniers", (though he compares the term to describing those who think the moon landing was faked, I believe that it is a term directly meant to raise an association with those who deny the Holocaust ever occurred)? Or do you remember Al Gore's more direct Nazi comparisons to global warming skeptics, and do you think I may be right about the "deniers" comment in light of this?
You may also remember the numerous times that the Administration has said no serious disagreement could exist from its economic policies such as the "stimulus" package. We'll ignore the voluminous mounds of bullshit about jobs created or saved (including in congressional districts that don't even exist) by the "stimulus" package as there is no need to pile on here.
In yet another example of the intolerance of dissent from progressives, the White House has placed a gag order on the Environmental Protection Agency to prevent negative comments on the potential Cap and Trade legislation. These people aren't trying to make sure that we are acting on good science, they are zealots, protecting a religion that makes no sense. The science isn't the religion, it is the politics that make up the articles of faith. The bad science that can be used to support it is just a justification to enforce the precepts of the progressive politics on everyone else. Pope Obama....or as Charles Krauthammer sarcastically called him, the baby Jesus, the head of the church of progressivism.

Judge Me By My Friends

Nominee for the 7th District Court of Appeals David Hamilton worked for ACORN. Gotta love those Obamanees.

Perhaps Obama is Kenyan for "He Who Does Not Get Irony"

President Barack Obama, who has spent more money in nine months on new programs than President Bill Clinton did in eight years, now says he wants to focus on he deficit. I topped out at calculus in school but I'm pretty sure my math is right when I look at what he's saying and it doesn't add up. No doubt about it, Obama is adopting his position for the 2010 elections and will posture himself as being reasonable when it comes to spending. If this administration lasts more than one term America is lost.

On a Less Sarcastic Note

The decision to try Khalid Sheik Muhommed in New York City strikes me as grossly incensitive and utterly stupid. The idea of bringing the self-proclaimed mastermind of the 9/11 terror attacks back to the city poses not only a security risk from terrorists, but from upset New Yorkers and others who may try to attack KSM. Further, it is blatantly disrespectful of the express wishes of many of the victims of the attacks and serves to reopen deep wounds. The stipid part is this: if the U.S. Constitution is to apply to this trial (it's a document I'm certain our President hasn't read) then almost no evidence will survive the "poison fruit of the tree" argument because no civil liberties were exercised during the course of KSM's arrest and subsequent detention. This might be because he shouldn't have any. However, once he's on U.S. soil, the Constitution covers him, at least in that courtroom. Lastly, this was an act of war, not a crime. The trial in this country of KSM is one more piece of evidence that President Obama fundamentally misunderstands the terrorist threat.
But to end on a high note, this may be exactly what President Obama wants. He's been pushed by the left to investigate the Bush administration. The defense attorney in this case is going to do it for him and put the United States and its treatment of foreign combatant terrorists on trial. I hope I'm wrong about that, but the Obama attitude about America (the apology tour continues as he has now apologized to Native Americans and for Hiroshima and Nagasaki...do the Japanese routinely apologize for Pearl Harbor?) indicates he thinks everyone else is our victim, including terrorists.

Welcome to the Law Firm of Obama and Holder, L.L.C.

Have you just been falsely accused of a crime which was coincidentally caught on tape, that you confessed to, or perhaps overwhelming forensic evidence was found around the bodies implicating you as the killer? Don't you fret young man or woman, the law firm of Obama and Holder has you covered.
Let's just take a look at our past succesful cases.
Case No. 1:
The scenario: two young upstanding African-American's wearing black panther outfits stand outside a polling place in Pennsylvania weilding weapons and intimidating white voters from going in and voting.
The evidence: clear video with audio demonstrating the weapons and your intimidation as well as their faces.
The verdict: a default judgment was taken against the involved parties.
Case No. 2:
The scenario: peaceful members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU, whose head is in tight with Mr. Obama), wearing SEIU T-shirts, attending a town hall meeting about health care reform attack an conservative black man across a table where he was handing out yellow flags with the "don't tread on me" motto after calling him a "nigger".
The evidence: video posted ubiquitously on youtube and splashed across Fox showing the attack.
The verdict: none.
Our solution: at Obama and Holder, we often move in mysterious ways. No charges have been filed to date.
Case No. 3:
The scenario: a famous black athlete kills his white girlfriend and her lover, tracking blood and DNA..........OK, we didn't do that one, but we'd have gotten OJ off, too.
Case No. 4:
The scenario: a radical Islamic terrorist plans multiple attacks on famous buildings in New York and Washington, D.C., with airplanes, toppling two skyrises and killing thousands. He is a foreigner who, presumably, has never stepped foot in the U.S., is captured abroad, and held off of U.S. soil for military tribunal.
The evidence: multiple confessions and subsequent detailed breifings given voluntarily to intelligence officials.
The verdict: pending.
Our solution: have the case transferred to a civilian criminal court in New York City so that he can pose a security risk for a city with a missing skyline, preventing the possibility of finding a neutral jury and applying laws that were never meant to deal with this scenario which could gurantee his acquittal on the merits. No doubt, issues of whether or not he was read his Miranda rights, was offered an attorney at the initial and subsequent questioning stages and if the interrogation tactics used were legal in the context of a court that will tomorrow deal with a breaking and entering charge. Further, here at Obama and Holder, we know that a criminal case is never about the criminal. Allowing him to stand trial in New York in a civilian court will allow the defense attorney the leeway to effectively place the United States and the Bush administration on trial. Assuming no one blows up the court first. Then, it can drag out through endless discovery as the defense attorney subpoenas the records of the CIA, FBI, and other intelligence agencies as well as former administration documents in an attempt to paint the former administration as too evil to allow KSM to be convicted.
WARNING: Our rates are very expensive, and we have the coercive force of the US government behind us to collect them. Welcome to the Obama and Holder law firm.

Scumbagorrama Keeps on Spouting

Deirdre Scozzafava, the "Republican" candidate from New York District 23 that dropped out while endorsing the Democrat, continues to show that she is almost as much of a Republican as she is a sex symbol. Scozzafava went on Rachel Maddow's show to talk about how the GOP has no substance. In my opinion, the biggest evidence of that is her candidacy. Scozafava, who, don't forget, was ACORN's favorite, is showing day by day that she is a liberal and never belonged in the party, much less being the nominee. But then, that should have been evident from the beginning. Liberal woman are never as pretty as conservative ones. Need proof? I give you Scozafava on the top, and Republican Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann (R. Minnesota) on the bottom.

Why the Left Always Sets the Agenda

Over the years we have continued to see government expansion and intrusion into the daily lives of the people. Despite the fact that many in power would express this as a bad thing, it has continued, nonetheless, and even accelerated over the decades. The question then is why? Why is it, in a country that is consistently described as center right, do the policies of the left so often prevail?
The answer is disturbingly simple. Conservatism, by nature, is reactive rather than proactive. Unlike Ronald Reagan and, to some extent, Newt Gingrich, conservatives do not actively seek out programs to cut back and downsize. Rather, they try to stop expansion when it is thrust upon them. The liberals and progressives believe in actively pursuing goals through government. So when the liberals want health care and the conservatives try to stop the expansionist program, they are taunted as the "party of no".
Then, eventually, along come the moderates who invariably seek a compromise. Rush Limbaugh recently said of moderates that, by definition, they have no principle, because you cannot agree to compromise a principle if you truly hold it. The more I think about that, the more clear it is to me that he was right. Once the moderates compromise, then the foot is in the door, and like all government programs and entitlements, the bureaucracy grows its power and money until suddenly, you find yourself with a single payor system with out of control costs, just like the welfare state expanded from helping people get by until they found a job to a way of life for a segment of society.
The left sets the agenda, the right does not, the moderates compromise and liberty withers on the vine. Conservatives have to start taking charge to set the agenda like Reagan did, or there will never be a chance to turn this mess around.

Take from this article what you will, but there is no doubt that the true aim of political correctness is to limit thought.

Bill Clinton Again Demonstrates the Class Which Has Defined His Life

Bill Clinton, in town to rally support for the health care bill, referred to the Tea Party participants by that oh, so inventive term so many have used before, teabaggers, again demonstrating his classiness. But then what else does one expect from a man who drops his pants and tells women (his victims) to "kiss it".

The Unholy Trinity: President Obama, Andy Stern and SEIU/ACORN

This article from the National Review Online sheds some light on Andy Stern, the man with the most access to the President and the White House. There's too much there for me to summarize adequately the depth of the article, so you'll have to read it yourself. Let's just say, if it doesn't bother you, you've got your head up your ass.

Everything Must Go Today!!!! Shhhhh....Not That....

Throughout his brief administration and as he often stated during his campaign, President Obama insisted that many of his programs must be done immediately. The "stimulus" package had to be on his desk so he could sign it right after being sworn in. It was essential the health care reform be done now. GM and Chrysler were rushed through bankruptcies that violated the federal law protecting secured creditors. Cap and Trade legislation has been presented as vital to save the planet immediately. Everything has to be done right now.

Except a decision on troops in Afghanistan. Nope. Gotta take some time on that, be real careful about that. Can't make the wrong decision. President Obama has now rejected all proposals regarding additional troops being sent to Afghanistan. Funny, the only decision he wants to be deliberative about is the one that is costing young Americans their lives.

NEA Just Keeps On Truckin'

Despite apparently still wondering whether or not they are doing something that will get them arrested, the National Endowment for the Arts was lying when they said the original controversial telephone conference was the act of a maverick. In fact, it's quite obvious they showed no concern whatsoever for the controversy they caused and that they will continue to use the NEA to promote the agenda of the Obama administration. Is it just me or if you have to ask if you might get arrested and you continue to undertake the act, shouldn't you be removed from office?

Elections Have Consequences, Like Don't Vote for a Democrat Just Because He Says What You Want to Hear

Congressman Bill Owens (D. NY), the recent winner of the controversial supplemental election in the New York 23rd District broke four campaign promises in his first hour of work. Never vote for a politician, always look to find a statesman.

220 Traitors to the Constitution and the People, One Simple Truth

In the dark of night, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D. Cal.) and 218 other House Democrats and one RINO, Rep. Joseph Cao(ward) (R. LA) voted 220 - 215 to pass the House health care reform bill which will jail people for not buying insurance including that oh so friendly felony record you get to attach to every job application for the rest of your life. But this is all about the American people, right? The good news, since the public option passed in the House bill, it will not get the 60 votes needed for passage in the Senate unless something unforeseen occurs. This fight isn't over yet, but we need vigilence as progressives continue to ignore the Constitution and intrude further into our lives and liberty while tearing down the economy in the process. Representative Cao, my Congressman, is getting a very ugly letter from me today.

But Only the Oil Company Experts are Biased by the Money

If you didn't already know, Al Gore stands to make millions off global warming initiatives, even though his mentor in global warming mythology recanted years ago. But all us hysterical fools who fight the lies used to prop up the pseudo-science of global warming who must be backed by the oil companies. I should really spend some time digging through the different stimulus and TARP provisions to see who profitted. I know Rep. Maxine Waters (D. Cali.) was one.

Only the Wicked Governors of Men Dread What is Said of Them

While reading "The Real Benjamin Franklin", a book given to me by my mother, I found the following quote from Benjamin Franklin regarding freedom of speech, writing under his famous pseudonym Silence Dogood:
"Without freedom of thought there can be no such thing as wisdom, and no such thing as public liberty without freedom of speech, which is the right of every man as far as by it he does not hurt or control the right of another; and this is the only check it ought to suffer, and the only bounds it ought to know.
This sacred privilege is so essential to free governments that the security of property and the freedom of speech always go together; and in those wretched countries where a man cannot call his tongue his own, he can scarce call anything else hi own. Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.
The administration of government is nothing else but the attendance of the trustees of the people upon the interest and affairs of the people; and as it is part and business of the people, for whose sake alone all public matters are, or ought to be, transacted, to see whether they be well or ill transacted, so it is the interest and ought to be the ambition of all honest magistrates to have their deeds openly examined and publicly scanned. Only the wicked governors of men dread what is said of them."
Though Franklin wrote this at the age of 16, he displays the wisdom which came to mark his life as one of our great founding fathers. I would like to focus attention on that last line. Think of all the things I have written about here which show President Obama's disdain for dissent (attacking all critics), his disregard for freedom of speech (boycotting a news organization and saying they aren't a news organization) and his disdain for transparency (appointing czars with questionable backgrounds who aren't reviewed by the Senate to important policy positions). If Benjamin Franklin is correct, and he is far wiser than President Obama, then truly our current president is a wicked governor of men.

Pants on Fire

Look, I could write a long post about the recently announced "jobs saved or created by the stimulus package" and administration claim that they've saved 1 million jobs. I could talk about how it is impossible to quantify and highly unlikely. Or, how after Vice President Joe Biden (D. Lala Land) said that no one could reasonably dispute the number, he came back and said that the job statistics weren't 100% accurate. I could also talk about how the White House continues to lash out with anyone who so much as questions them, even ABC who said each stimulus job cost $160,000.00 to create, or the Edmunds report which showed cash for clunkers cost $24,000.00 per new car sold that wouldn't have been sold in the normal course of business. But I'll keep it simple and just say the administration is full of liars who get angry when you question the lies. Is this what we expect in our government?

All Aboard on the Corruption Train

Am I wrong to celebrate that Representative Maxine Waters (D. Cali.) is on the list recently leaked of corruption probes? I am not happy, however, to see how many people there are on the list and that they are in positions of great power and influence.

A Step Down in the Right Direction

For those of you who haven't been following it, the Republican Party took a huge step backwards in the New York District 23 race for the House of Representatives. The local party nominated Dierdre Scozzafava who doesn't so much qualify as a RINO (republican in name only) as she's just an outright liberal who should be running on the Democratic ticket. She's pro-abortion (anyone who calls it pro-choice is trying to distract you from the truth of the position), was endorsed by ACORN and accepted that endorsement, ran as part of the progressive Working Families Party previously (which is an offshoot of ACORN) and she's in favor of tax and spend policies. This despite the fact that a true conservative, Doug Hoffman, was interested in running, and indeed, decided to run on the Conservative Party ticket.
The National Republican Party and several prominent republicans endorsed Scozzafava, mostly citing to the local party decision to nominate her. Meanwhile, other conservatives who felt principle should proceed party, put forth their support for Hoffman. (This apparently made NBC ecstatic and they ran stories on in under every local market.) National radio and TV personalities Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity (who also have the three largest radio audiences in the U.S.A. and two of the three highest rated cable news commentary shows) all endorsed Hoffman and decried the support of what is essentially a female Obama who somehow snuck into the party.
Luckily, something behind the scenes convinced Scozzafava to suspend her campaign. I hope she eventually decides to fully remove her name from the ballot, but this allows the conservative candidate to hold the full support of the GOP. I'd like to think that the Republican Party worked behind the scenes to get this to happen, knowing that the local party had made a dramatic mistake, but we'll probably never know.
