Must See TV

This ad by Governor Jan Brewer (R. AZ) is about the most effective advertisement I've ever seen.

I Think I Have a Man Crush

Andrew Breitbart, founder of the websites BigGovernment, BigHollywood, BigMedia, etc., and former partner of Matt Drudge of the drudgereport.com has offered $100,000.00 in reward money for anyone who gives him the names of the members of journolist, a liberal media listserve that came to light recently when a Washington Post columnist hired to follow and comment on conservatives was revealed as a raving liberal whose comments about the people he covered made me blush. Brietbart had previously put up reward money for anyone to come forward and produce evidence of racism from Tea Party activists at the protest of the health care bill. Amazingly (not really), in the age of cell phone cameras, no one could produce any evidence to back the Democrats' accusations.

Rosie O'Donnell Must be Ecstatic

Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez is set to seize 11 American owned oil rigs. They had refused to renegotiate an existing contract. But that could never happen here, right?
Dear President Obama,
Recently my alignment went out on my GM produced car. I'm assuming you have that covered.

We Are Not Equals

One of the most disturbing parts of modern liberalism and statism is the equality movement. I can tell you, I'm not your equal nor are you mine. Are we all capable of accomplishing the same things? No. The modern liberal movement wants us to believe that men and women are exactly the same. Anything I can do she can do better. Really? I can go a lifetime without menstruating. On the opposite side, I can't be pregnant. I can't lactate. No doctor is going to ask if I have sickle cell anemia as a white man, and in the same vein, I am far more susceptible to malaria that the average black person. I am far shorter than even my brother, who shares nearly every gene I do. We are both athletic, but I'm betting on him in the basketball game. To some degree, the modern liberal movement seeks to understand these differences, then eliminate them. Hillary Clinton broke the glass ceiling of a woman who has been betrayed constantly by her husband to finally climb over the corpse of his more popular career to achieve a loss in a presidential campaign. Congrats!! Why are we proud that the first African American has been elected to office? It can only because we distinguish him from the white majority. I thought for a second I was happy about that, then I thought how I was dissapointed that anyone cared or it was a criterion for the office. I submit this election actually showed the institutional racism of the left (RIP KKK Robert Byrd).
I can write this blog better than you (though that's debatable). You may be better at math, history, the ability to select a decent balloon at a fair, recognizzing over-ripe sushi. We are not equals. We were just created that way.

Can the Federal Government Tell You What to Eat

Elena Kagan doesn't know. The good news is, and too many conservatives have conceeded on this point, she's replacing another moron. But why isn't anyone screaming about how this candidate, who is the mirror image of Harriet Miers, is an unqualified hack? Conservatives cave, activists push and ground is given, over and over.

She is Largely a Progressive in the Mold of Obama

This is one of the quotes used by a friend of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan's friends to describe her. When asked her response, she stammered a lot. She did talk about how her politics would have to be set aside so that the law would rule her decisions. She has other similarities to Obama. She's never had a real job. She has no experience. She's an idealogue and an "intellectual" (which is how liberals apparently describe idiots...see Jeaneane Garofolo). If it helps any, Justice Sonia Sotomayor testified at her hearings (like Kagan did today) that gun rights are an individual right, an opinion Justice Sotomayor took a 360 degree turn on in the recent Supreme Court case, siding with the four Justices who ruled against that very position. The hearings are pointless. We all know who Obama wants on the bench.

The Democrat's Sacred Cows

A potential upcoming bailout of the government sponsored loan corporations Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac could cost taxpayers $1 trillion. Of course, the idiotic "financial reform package" which recently passed through committee manages to completely exempt Fannie and Freddie from any additional oversight. This despite the fact that Fannie and Freddie were the main source of the housing bubble and its subsequent collapse. Is it any coincidence that the corrupt Senator Christopher Dodd (D. Conn) and the architect of the mortgage without so much as identification, Representative Barney Frank (D. Mass), were the authors of the financial reform package?

Supreme Court Upholds Individual Gun Rights

The Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision along predictable ideological lines that the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms is an individual right which cannot be denied by the states. As with any right, it is not absolute and reasonable regulations may be had. Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, a true scumbag, immediately announced that there would be restrictions put in place so onerous as to make owning a gun nigh on impossible. I would go into an analysis of the 4 idealougues who went against the majority, but I'd probably start cussing a lot. I'll just leave it at this, their position is logically indefensible in the context of the history of the incorporation of the Bill of Rights through the 14th Amendment to apply to the states. In other words, they shouldn't be allowed to call themselves justices.

Resetting Our Relationship With Russia

President Barack Obama recently bragged about having "reset" America's relationship with Russia, presumably on friendlier terms. Personally, I believe this is extremely naivee on the part of the President, and that's being generous. During the speech, he referred to World War II as "The Great Patriotic War" which is what the Communist Soviets called the war after Hitler betrayed them. This indicates an outright supplication to (and I tend to agree with Libaugh that it is outright grovelling) the Russians. Keep in mind, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin (formally the President and the puppeteer behind the current supposedly democratic government) is a former KGB soldier. From recent history, it appears to me that Russia has resumed it's Cold War stance regarding the US (including threats regarding the missle shield the President wimperingly caved on, betraying our Polish and Czhech allies). As additional evidence, Putin recently bragged about a new Russian fighter jet specifically comparing it to American fighters and calling it superior. But the most definitive evidence occured today, when 11 people in sleeper cell families were charged with espionage on behalf of Russia. Congratulations, President Neville Chamberlain.

I Would Like to Own Me Some Lesbos

Greece is so stricken by its debt crisis, from having policies very similar to those President Obama would like to see implemented, that it has put up some of its islands for sale. I wonder how much the Isle of Lesbos is going for? And yes, it is a real place. It was the subject of some international humor in 2008 when the Lesbians filed with a court to enjoin the use of the term to describe homosexual women. You can't make that kind of stuff up.

Generally Ironic

Yesterday President Barack Obama accepted the resignation (i.e., he fired) General Stanley McChrystal. His replacement is General David Petraeus, the architect of the surge in Iraq. This is the same General Petraeus that Moveon.org, the George Soros funded progressive group, took out a full page ad referring to his as General Betray Us. He's being appointed by the same President who, as a Senator, refused to condemn the ad. He's the same General who was berated by then Senator Obama for his surge strategy in Iraq and it's imminent failure (whoops!). Don't get me wrong, if McChrystal was going to be relieved of his responsibilities in Afghanistan I couldn't be happier with the appointment of Petraeus (who is actually taking a demotion to take over there), but it's hard to look at this situation and not think of President Obama as incompetent. On the other hand, he does deserve credit for making the right decision.

I Wonder if You'll Hear a Peep Out of the Administration About This

Venezuelan dictator (I'm sorry Sean Penn, guess I'll have to go to jail for calling him that) Hugo Chavez is set to nationalize a fleet of oil rigs belonging to United States companies. Venezuela has suffered through the worst performing economy in Latin America this year. Given the Obama administration's policies of taking over companies to "save" (screw) the American economy, I wonder what justification President Obama could even try to use to protect American private assets overseas, especially given many of those on the left shouting for the President to seize BP. Then again, judging from the policies, it looks like Chavez might be Barry's hero.

The Ties That Bind

President Obama penned a letter to the members of the G20 urging them to keep up stimulus spending measures and to forego austerity measures such as spending cuts. As much as I can't believe I'm about to say this, Europe, especially Germany, seem to be the more rational group, refusing to do so. Apparently our President's reliance on long disproven and illogical Keynsian economic policies is not going to carry the day as European leaders see their countries on the verge of a debt collapse. Meantime, George Soros, our friend behind the Center for American Progress and most major progressive groups like Moveon.org, has warned (seriously, warned) that Germany step up to their responsibilities (i.e. spend) or threaten a collapse of the European Union through the dissolution of the Euro. This is a man who is known by some in the legitimate British media as "the man who broke the bank of England". There has been much speculation about the intentional collapse of the capitolist system as a means of redistributing wealth per the Cloward and Piven ideology and Obama and Soros are tied up in a number of ways and interrelated through a number of organizations. Combined with the Democratic leadership's apparent need to spend the United States into the ground, where would wealth flee? Overseas, but if you force them to collapse as well then all of Western society restarts. This seems way too weird to be real, but we have an academic in the White House who is a clear follower of Saul Alinsky. I think we're beyond the looking glass.

You Mean Our First Round of Manufactured Evidence Was Insufficient? We Have More!

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has decided, in light of the federal court ruling lifting the moronatorium, that he will implement another moronatorium, he just plans to explain the necessity more clearly this time. Anyone remember that the experts the administration lied about having supported the moronatorium actually think that banning drilling is more dangerous than continuing to drill. Evidence be damned, President Obama doesn't like oil, and he's not going to let silly things like the livelihood of the Gulf Coast community get in his way (or the country by proxy). Hell, he even ordered the halt of dredging to create sand berms that would prevent harm to the marshlands so it can be moved further offshore.

The Buck Starts Somewhere Over There

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D. MD) will announce in a speech to a leading progressive think tank (shocker) that the House will not pass a budget this year. Call me a cynic, but I'm guessing the reason for this is that Democrats won't be able to agree on a budget that shows some kind of fiscal restraint and that will hurt their chances of reelection. President Obama gave them a great excuse when he created his deficit panel (despite the express disapproval of the legislature) and that they would be announcing their plans to address the deficit after the November elections (surprise). Hoyer says the House can't pass a budget without the recommendations of the panel. Funny, they seem to have managed to do it for over 200 years before.

Arizona May Be the New Kidnapping Capitol but it May Be the Administration Holding Arizona Hostage

Senator Jon Kyl (R. AZ) recently said that the President admitted to him that he did not want to move to secure the border with Mexico because then he would not have any leverage to get Republicans to cooperate in passing "comprehensive immigration reform", i.e., blanket amnesty for all illegals in the country creating an instant new Democratic voting bloc of several million people. Both sides have accused the other of lying about the exchange. If this is true, President Obama is showing a shocking degree of disregard for the lives of American people who are getting killed by drug traffickers crossing the border. In the meantime, rather than securing the border, his Attorney General, Eric Holder (the guy who dropped a suit against members of the New Black Panthers who interfered with voting in Pennsylvania), will file suit against Arizona for passing its new anti-illegal immigration law. This was amazingly announced in Ecuador by the Secretary of State and wasn't even a press release to the American public. The Mexican government, dependent on the billions of dollars we allow immigrants to export to their families there, has decided to sue Arizona as well. What a joke. Only a liberal, who wants to find victims in every way so that they can "rescue" them and gain a voting bloc, could make drug runners and others violating federal law the victim and Arizona, trying to protect its citizens, the bad guy.

It's Official: The White House Lies

The good news: a federal judge in the Eastern District of Louisiana court has lifted the moronatorium. The bad news: now a court is officially on record having found that the administration misled the public. The judge specifically cited the administrations use of several experts it claimed had signed off on the moronatorium, all of whom stated that language was added after they had reviewed the report and that every one of them have stated they did not support the ban. This is a pattern of behavior. Remember that when President Obama was talkign about the need for his "stimulus" package he would talk about how all economists were in agreement that it was needed. This despite the fact that over 200 economists had signed a letter, including one from the communist haven of Harvard, to the President about how government spending is not the way to combat an economic downturn. The point of this tactic is to prematurely cut off any debate or dissent from the administration's positions. It is one of many ways in which the left attempts to silence dissent.

And These Are the People Who Identify with Feminism

A Tennessee state Democratic legislator has said of Republican females that you have to lift their skirts to see if they are women. While you can't ascribe the statment of an individual to the whole group, it fits a pattern of treatment by liberals of conservative females. I shouldn't complain, I'm pretty sure you'd have to lift a liberal man's skirt to see if he was a male, too.

I Don't Condone it, I'm Just Saying...

General Stanley McChrystal went off the reservation in an interview with Rolling Stone, criticizing the Obama administration's actions regarding the war in Afghanistan. I don't for even a second condone the open criticism of the commander in chief by one of his generals during a time of war. Any such concerns should be quietly put through proper channels. However, I do find it a bit ironic that the administration took endless months to study his request for additional troops but reacts lightning quick to this criticism by summoning him in person to the White House.

More Hypocrisy and Liberal Logic

The White House, desperate to craft the message on the BP oil spill in the most favorable light to them, excoriated BP CEO Tony Hayward for taking his son to watch his yacht participate in a race off the southern coast of England. Never mind that President Obama went golfing, again. That is apparently good for the American people, according to the White House. Never mind that Tony Hayward was replaced and relieved of his responsibilities regarding the oil spill after he testified before a self-righteous Congressional panel. No sense paying attention to the facts.

The Subtle Slant

If you read this story from Yahoo! entitled "GOP guidelines issued for videographers" which refers to two recent incidents in which politicians have come off looking heavy handed with people wielding video recorders, you might think it was because those two politicians were members of the GOP. Strangely, Yahoo! forewent the traditionally designation of state and affiliation so that when both politicians are explicitly mentioned, the fact that they are both Democrats is nowhere within the article. The best bias is always subtle.

Dear Liberals, Please Take Note

Greece, with its well-documented debt problems, now has attained junk bond status. This is a country whose finances have collapses for the reason that it has the exact policies that liberals long to implement in the United States.

Fundamentally Screwing America

Speculation is that President Obama is going to use Tuesday's televised address from the Oval Office, a location typically used to ramp up the importance of the message and never previously utilized by this President, to present the case for cap and trade again. It's unlikely he'll call it that, but his version of an "energy bill" will include "pricing" carbon emissions. In fact, he already mentioned this in a previous speech. By pricing, the President means instituting a tax on emissions above a government set amount. In order to minimize tax penalties, carbon offsets would be sold on a market. The market has already been set up and it is called the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) and is advertised as a voluntary pilot program. In case the fact that it is based in Chicago didn't give you pause (and Chicago is a legitimate financial center, second only to Wall Street), let's take a look at who stands to gain from the massive influx of cash that would result from a cap and trade policy to the CCX.
The Joyce Foundation, a progressive group that allows donors to essentially launder donations to multiple progressive fronts, provided the founding initial grant to start the program. The Joyce Foundation provided funding to Bill Ayers', American terrorist and Obama friend, brother. Barack Obama was on the Board of Directors. Another Board member is Maurice Strong. If you don't remember him, please read the previous post and link here. He's a wonderful guy who once had Saddam Hussein as an investor. Another supporter and person influencing the CCX, Al Gore. As we all know the Goracle is the modern prophet and profiteer of global warming. One of the chief stockholders of the CCX is Goldman Sachs. The Chairman is the uber-corrupt Chicago Mayor Richard Daley, a man synonymous with the political machine in Chicago notorious for its political cronyism. This is all detailed, not in an American paper of course, but in an article in the Canadian Free Press, published over a year ago. I highly recommend reading it, here.
President Obama has famously noted that he'd rather be a good President than be a multiple term President. The structures that this administration is trying to put in place are designed to far outlive the terms of office they are serving. Talk about taking the fun out of fundamentally changing America.

Mother May I

It seems the titular head of government in the United States doesn't make his own decisions and takes his marching orders from some pretty scary folks. The ultra progressive, George Soros backed Center for American Progress seems to be writing the White House script, at least on the BP oil spill. Headed by former Clinton chief of staff and co-chair of the Obama transition team, John Podesta, this is an organization that pushes for every progressive agenda item. These are the people that are utterly convinced that they know better than you how to run your life and they are determined to do so.

Must See TV

The man who filmed the now-famous Helen Thomas video that led to her excorcism from the media runs a website call Rabbilive.com. I never thought to look into his background as Ms. Thomas' words speak for themselves. Apparently the left wing media has, and is looking for anything to destroy the man for making the tape, including calling the New York Democrat who donated to and voted for President Barack Obama part of a right wing conspiracy. Note that even the interviewer says "You asked her the least loaded question of all time." Meanwhile, our young rabbi friend is having to reevaluate his beliefs regarding conservatism and liberalism. I hope that all Jews (who vote en masse Democrat) will do the same considering this adminisration's (and progressives') attitude towards Israel and Jews.

And Here I Thought I Didn't Have to Blame Obama

I was all prepared to give President Obama a pass on the oil spill and cleanup. I'd like to stress, the spill and the cleanup, not the Moronatorium. President Obama was no more responsible for the spill and the cleanup, I thought, than anyone else. Well, at least I was right about the spill. It appears now that the federal government has been ridiculously incompetent on the cleanup end of this disaster.

First, the breaking story of the day is that international help has been refused by the administration, adding weeks if not months to the cleacnup process.

Second, the reason for the denial of help? The Jones Act. The Jones Act denies the use of any foreign instrument in intercoastal transport. Nations that have offered help and the construction of barrier islands have been turned away. A man from Dallas has 12 ships waiting that could be used and isn't even receiving a response.
Third, the Jones Act has been suspended before to allow foreign help but the Admnistration is dragging its feet and not given any indication that they intend to lif the Jones Act ban. Meanwhile, they have made an exception for foreign boats that are constructing wind turbines off the east coast.
Fourth, the Jones Act protects unions. Maritime employment is one of the last bastions of heavily unionized workers. Unions don't want to see the Jones Act suspended because they are more worried about union paychecks than the Louisiana coast. It's not beyond immagination to make the connection that the Administration is not lifting the ban because of their ties to labor.

A Panel of Scientists is Completely in Agreement with the Recommendations Written in by the Administration that They Never Saw

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar testifying before Congress on the minimum six month Moronatorium in the Gulf cited the agreement of seven experts who had signed off on the recommendation of the report. Only they didn't. In fact, they've made it clear they disagree with the Moronatorium (sorry, it's a catchy name to me). Even worse, the recommendations were added to the report after they had signed on, agreeing with the general principles of the report. They even emphasize the strong safety record of deepwater drilling generally. At least one of the experts says that the Moronatorium will not reduce risks and I've seen at least one reporter stating that at least one expert says it is riskier to have the rigs shut down.
The Moronatorium has nothing to do with the oil spill. It is an excuse to try and push for cap and trade and a convenient deflection for an administration that has handled this with startling incompetence and cronyism (more on that later, or if you read from the top down on this blog, earlier.) Woodrow Wilson was a nightmare of a President, Roosevelt a blight upon the land, Johnson and Carter worthless. President Obama hasn't made two years and he makes them all look like George Washington.

Well,It's Only 10% After All. Call it a Tithe

Bill Ayers, who President Barack Obama constantly tries to distance himself from despite having worked with him and launched his political career in his living room, was a founding member of the Weather Underground, a terrorist organization that bombed buildings such as the Pentagon. In fact, on September 11, 2001, Ayers lamented that the Weather Underground didn't do more.
Now, Glenn Beck showed video from 1982 of the only FBI agent to ever infiltrate the group successfully. During the interview, he reveals that the group expected that North Korea, Russia, China and Cuba would want to carve up the country between them once the Weather Underground had been successful. That was their economic plan once they were in office. When asked what they would have to do with the hard core capitalist, the groups leaders said they'd have to kill them. They figured it would be about 10% of the population, or 25 million people at the time.
Bill Ayers is currently a college professor who teaches others how to educate young people and writes books on the subject. He has never apologized for his views nor has he repudiated them.

Moronatorium

President Obama is enforcing a six month moratorium on deepwater offshore exploratory drilling. Companies are moving their rigs as a result and jobs will be lost, making the oil spill an economic disaster as well. Smart move. In the meantime, Interior Secretary Ken Salazer has announced the administration will seek to have BP pay the salaries of workers who don't work because of the moratorium. What a joke of an administration. If they were treating individual human beings the way they treat business, the economy and the public at large they would be in a psych ward getting treatment for being sociopaths.

Blanche Lincoln Won Her Primary, Amazingly, That's Good News

Senator Blanche Lincoln (D. Ak.) is currently giving her acceptance speech, having survived her primary challenge from Bill Halter. Why is this good news? Halter ran from the left of Lincoln, with massive funding from unions. There is an anti-incumbent element to the current political scene, and it is well founded, but this race may show that the more conservative elements of the self identified Democrats are exerting their influence.

Nobel Laureate Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O'Donnell, who apparently maintains her absurd weight so no one can shove her annoying ass back into the closet, intellectual luminary that she is, so bright she was run off that bastion of sanity, The View, decided to chime in on what the government should do next with regard to the BP oil spill. Rosie advocates the federal government to seize all of BP's assets. Never mind the Constitution or the fact that BP is not an American corporation, just issue an executive order and take all of its assets. Never mind that the oil company has the experience and engineers to deal with this problem and the government doesn't, just commie up and seize it. Thank God she's only heard these days on satellite radio.

Insane

The U.S. Treasury is reporting to Congress that the national debt will rise from its current nightmarish $13.6 trillion dollars to $19.6 trillion in just 5 more years. That is an astronomical increase of 50% in just five years. That would be 102% of everything the U.S. economy produces in a year. Yes, the Bush administration didn't help matters, but President Obama has his foot so far down on the gas it's underneath the floorboard. We have to stop this insanity now.

Charlie Crist's Motto: I Strongly Believe in Whatever Will Get Me Elected

Florida Independent Senate Candidate (and current governor) Charlie Crist has strong principles and beliefs. He used to be a Republican and swore he would not become an independent if he lost the primary. So he became an Independent candidate when it became evident he was going to lose the primary. Charlie Crist was so principled, in fact, that he even refused to return campaign donations when requested to do so by those who believed him. Charlie Crist also believes in the sanctity of life. That's why he had to scrub his website of all pro-life references after promising to veto legislation that would opt Florida out of abortion funding (you know, the stuff that the President's Executive Order took care of?) from the federal health care legislation. So vote Charlie Crist for Senate. He's a man of character.

So by this Logic I Should not be Punished if I Shoot Someone

As is my want, I was checking out the other half this afternoon as I drove across the Causeway, listening to liberal talk radio host Randi Rhodes. Randi was decrying the firing (technically she resigned, but it was probably under pressure) of Helen Thomas after her screed against the Jews in Israel went viral. Randi's position is that there is no longer free speech in this country when you can be fired from your job for your opinion when you were hired to express your opinion. She, of course, quickly distinguished this from the ESPN firing of Rush Limbaugh for saying that some in the media wanted Donovan McNabb to succeed in part because he is a black quarterback. First, Helen Thomas was a White House correspondent. To the limited extent she was hired to give opinion, it was about the White House. Second, Helen Thomas was "fired" by a private organization who stood to suffer from the views she so freely expressed. Third, Helen Thomas does not face government action against her for her firing.
Randi is apparently of the opinion that rights do not come with responsibilities or consequences. Randi feels Helen Thomas should be able to spew her vile opinion without ever risking her job. I wonder if Randi would feel the same if the employer were a person and not a company? Does Randi believe you can slander or libel others without consequence? Probably, given her expressed views about the tea party. I guess by her logic, if I exercise my right to bear arms by shooting my employer, I shouldn't be fired. That's strong work, Randi. Liberal "logic" lives on.

Does Your Constitution Come with a Disclaimer?

Becasue this one does. The printed Constitution from A & D Publishing comes with the following disclaimer on the rear:
This book is a product of its time and does not reflect the same values as it would if it were written today. Parents might wish to discuss with their children how views on race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and interpersonal relations have changed since this was written before allowing them to read this classic work.
Now, it's likely that this is a standard print on all of the books this publisher sells of a certain age and was never intended to be put on the Constitution. However, in this age, it's still a possibility that this was what was intended to be put on there. If that is the case, I'm guessing President Obama has shares in the company, because it certainly seems to reflect his understanding of the Constitution.

Progressives: Obama not Liberal Enough

Believe it or not, arguably the most liberal President in history (he may take a back seat to FDR, LBJ and/or Wilson) and a man who actually ranked as a more liberal senator than Socialist Bernie Sanders (Vt.) (yes, he's really a member of the Socialist Party), is not enough of a progressive for the left. How scary is it that there is a large segment of Americans who think he's not pushing this agenda harder and faster?

Captain Moron Rides Again!

Or maybe I should call him Captain Hypocrite this time. President Barack Obama will tell high school graduates tonight not to make excuses and to take responsibility for their failures as well as their successes, as gleaned from excerpts of his speech. Seriously. No truth to the rumor that he blamed President Bush for the speech.

Yesterday was the Anniversary of D-Day, Just Don't Tell the President

President Obama, who continues to hold lavish parties at the White House like some crazed Emperor (or Queen of France), oblivious to the problems of his nation. He must have been hung over, because despite yesterday being the anniversary of one of the most historic moments in U.S. history, the Invasion of Normandy in WWII, not a peep was heard from the administration about it, not a note on the White House blog, not a bit in a press release, and the President did not attend any commemorative events. He did make his second party of the week though. I find it increasingly difficult to have even a shred of respect for the man.

Gone but Not Forgotten...or Particularly Missed

Helen Thomas, the most senior White House press corp member retired today, just shy of her 90th birthday. Ms. Thomas was the author of such notable idiocies as 1) of course I'm a liberal all reporters should be liberals, 2) her supposedly unbiased questioning of White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs on the response to the recent Israeli flotilla incident, and 3) her rant against the Jewish "occupiers" telling them to get the hell out of Israel, suggesting they go back to countries where they were slaughtered (apparently having forgotten that the Jews had been driven out of Israel long before the Palestinians showed up).

Welcome to the New Democracy

Yet More Evidence of the Census Boondoggle

This post from RedState is a nice compilation of several news articles and anecdotal supporting evidence (which might be called whistleblowing) on the 2010 census fraud. Maybe the biggest point, $14.7 billion compared to the 2000 cost of $6.5 billion.

How Far Have We Come?

From the begining of this nation's current government the first enumerated protection from government interference was the freedom of the press, free speech and religion. Now the government no longer believes in this. From President Barack Obama's recent commencment speech decrying the abundance of information available as a result of the internet to the Federal Trade Commission draft proposal to restructure journalism with government bureaucracy at the heart of the changes. Welcome to the all-caring, all-controling government of the left.

President Obama Casts Aside Reality

Not that this is the first time, but today President Barack Obama once again cast aside reality to proclaim nonsense and the stock market was not amused. The May jobs report indicated an increase of 431,000 jobs. Good news right? Not so much. Of the jobs created, only 41,000 were created in the private sector and of that, 31,000 were temporary positions. Who hired the rest of the people? The United States Census. As I wrote earlier, even the 390,000 temporary census positions aren't really 390,000 positions. The census is laying off and rehiring people in order to count them as multiple jobs created. President Obama still used the report to claim the economy is getting stronger by the day (this link goes to the interview I mentioned last night). Meanwhile, on the very same bright and cheery news that taxpayers are financing hundreds of thousands of people to perform a headcount (the only legitimate constitutional function of the census), the Dow amazing tanked, dropping over 300 points on the day. So who do you believe, the man who takes millions out of your pocket, or the people who want to preserve their wealth? It's always easier to push someone else of the bridge than it is to take a leap yourself. I'll go with logic, reality and the stock market.

Stay Classy, Paul!

Sir (yes, for some reason England knighted a communist for his ability to perform music) Paul McCartney, who was more important to the President's schedule than the traditional laying of the wreath at Arlington cemetary on Memorial Day, decided to take the opportunity of receiving an award from the Library of Congress to bash former President George W. Bush. McCartney said it was nice after the last eight years to have a President who knows what a library is. McCartney is apparently unaware that, as he is not an American citizen, he does not have a President. Intellectual giant that McCartney is, he appears to be unaware that President Bush is married to a librarian or that he was the first President to have held an Master's Degree in Business Administration from Harvard. I'm no fan of President Bush's domestic policies with regard to the unmitigated spending, but I don't doubt for a second that the man is more intelligent than he often appears when speaking publicly. Guess he should have used a teleprompter at all times like the consumate orator President Obama, who screws up every time he improvs a line. Anyone remember him trying to justify government health care by telling the audience how the U.S. Post is failing while FedEx and UPS are profitting? The left really needs to get over itself.

More Openness and Transparency

Our historically open and transparent adminstration is now apparently trying to withhold documents held in the Clinton library on Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan. Read this article on your own about her opinions, but if we can't air the writings of an "intellecual" (which I'm almost certain is what most people would call retarded) does she deserve to be vetted in the first place?

CHICAGO!!!!

So the felonious interference with state races keeps on coming. Not long after the Democratic Senate hopeful Joe Sestak blew up, now, the White House has confirmed it dangled jobs in front of Colorado Democratic Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff. The administration is so cocky that spokesman Robert Gibbs (or as I like to think of him, Gibblets and maybe) chalks it up as politics as usual.
In the meantime, the administration is awaiting a jobs report that is going to be so fraudulent it could only have been devised by....well...them. Concrete evidence has emerged that not only are the temporary census positions being counted as jobs created by Uncle Barry (Barry Soweto is Barack Obama's birth name), but that census workers are laid off and rehired, then counted as multiple created jobs. Congressman Issa (R. Cal.) says that his committee on ethics and oversight is being blocked from investigation of the jobs offers by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D. Cal.). Sorry for the lack of links on this, I picked up most of it from TV interviews and haven't found the posted e-mails on the census positions yet.
This is the most cynical and corrupt government to ever be in power in this country.

Random Thought

As I watch SEIU people in front of the White House protesting the Arizona anti-illegal immigration law, it occurs to me that these union people should probably be at work.
