President Barack Obama has taken the opportunity of everyone paying attention to the the hearings on Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor to comparatively quietly announce his nominee to be Surgeon General, Regina M. Benjamin. Not to seem like I think the President might be using the news cycle to hide another radical nomination, but I think the President might be using the news cycle to hide another radical nomination. We'll see. If she was a great nominee, I'd think he would want the news cycle to be devoted to her, not the Sotomayor hearings. Rush Limbaugh mentioned on his radio show that she doesn't believe doctors should make a profit, which makes her a perfect Obaminee (did I just coin a term there?", though I haven't confirmed this elsewhere at this time. She does run a non-profit clinic. Again, we'll see just what comes out about this lady.
