Word from the National Governor's Association meeting is that Governors share concerns over President Barack Obama's (Communist, Kenya) proposed health care legislation (yeah, it's coming out of four committees in two branches of Congress right now, but this is his baby). Key to their concerns are potential unfunded mandates, or what Democrats often insert in legislation to call themselves fiscally conservative (that's really not fair, both parties historically are guilty of utilizing unfunded mandates). An unfunded mandate is when the federal government sets a goal for the states to meet and does not give them any money to implement the programs. Ironically, this is how the E.U. works as well. I'm pretty sure it's not in the Constitution (actually I'm positive) and, frankly, the procedure should be banned. But the good news is, your Governor may actually be smarter than the President, but then, I'm betting that you are, too.
