I got beat yet again in my tennis league by someone fatter than I am so rest and recuperation is the motif. No posts today.

Sweet Revenge

Glenn Beck took the top rating in the key demographic of 25-54 year olds over Bill O'Reilly, who maintained his usual massive audience, and netted over 3 million viewers while he rages against the machine. I'm guessing some of those advertisers might want to come back, if they were ever there at all.

I Do Not Have To Agree to Disagree

I was speaking with a friend today and mentioned that roughly 85% of the country has health care insurance. He did not believe me and said we'd have to agree to disagree on this. I'm not writing this to show him up or prove I'm smarter. I'm writing this to let the reader know that my purpose is righteous and that I only seek to bring truth to those willing to listen. Because my arguments, if I'm quoting numbers or if there is something I assert as fact, it is because I can back it up. I don't just throw out statistics to support my point without knowing that they are not supportable and I usually will use the estimate that hurts my argument most to avoid distortion. So I don't have to agree to disagree.
Let's assume for one second that the administration is not using an exaggerated number when it says that there are 47 million people without insurance in this country (and I'll get to destroying this myth in a bit). At the end of 2008, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the population at 305 million and counting. Lets simplify this by increasing the number of insured to 50 million and decreasing the overall population to 300 million. It is clear then, that 1/6 of the country has no health care insurance, leaving 5/6 of the country as insured. I've done the math in my head as well as a calculator and reached the same result: 83 1/3 % of the country has insurance (or if you use the real numbers 84.59%). I will give the liberals credit in that the U.S. Census Bureau is the source of the 47 million number. They can latch on to bad news like a parasite to your small intestine.
OK, so now let's look at the 47 million uninsured. Non-citizens, who make up 7% of the population, account for 21% of the uninsured. A number which likely cannot be accurately calculated, but surely makes up a large portion of people between the ages of 18 and 40 is those who choose not to purchase coverage even though they could afford it (like me) because they'd rather use the money elsewhere. Let's also ignore EMTALA, the federal law that requires stabilization of patients before they can be transferred to another facility or allowed to leave. Further, let's ignore that emergency rooms across the nation provide care with the knowledge that they'll have to write off the bills. We also need to ignore that some states provide health care systems (Louisiana charity system) or mandate that hospitals provide a certain amount of care each year as charity (Texas at 5%) or that they have enacted a universal coverage system of their own (Massachusetts, broke, Oregon, no chemo, but we'll pay for assisted suicide, it's cheaper). Finally, let's pretend that there is no such thing as a charity hospital (like oh, say, Shriners International). It's also questionable how many of those uninsured are eligible for existing federal programs.
What you see from the above is that it takes a lot of pretending to believe that there is any sort of health care crisis in this country or that we have some horrible system of health care. Is it costly? Yes. Insurance drives costs up, not down as our economically challenged (or perhaps he's differently abled) President seems to believe.
My friend believes that we have a moral obligation to provide health care to all citizens, which he cannot get due to a preexisting condition. I believe that I have an obligation to do what I can to see that all people get health care. I have no idea what your moral obligation is, and I'm not willing to use the government to dictate a moral obligation to you (ironic how a group of people famous for screaming about how government should not influence their religion have no problem invoking it to dictate everyone else's morals). Maybe it's because people like Vice President Joe Biden doesn't believe in charity that they think government must act (he averaged $369.00 a year). Maybe it's because President Obama proposed removing tax exemptions for charity.
Or maybe I'm right. I think I've set out an argument even the most liberal person would have trouble disputing. I hope my friend knows that if he ever needed care he couldn't afford, I'd do everything in my power to get it taken care of, short of forcing others to pay for it, but I do not have to agree to disagree.

OK, Let's Talk Truth About Death Panels

There has been a good bit of backing away from the Death Panel moniker given by Sarah Palin by conservatives of late, with many saying they don't exist and never did. I give you the great head fake. Sarah Palin mentioned that she didn't want to worry about an Obama death panel denying care for Trig, her son with Down Syndrome. The supporters of the bill immediately pointed to the end of life counseling provisions saying there is no death panel. Talk show host fled away from the idea that end of life counseling constitutes a death panel. Rush Limbaugh supported the idea that end of life care was a death panel based on the VA death counseling handbook, which really makes it seem like it is suggesting taking the quickest way down. Sean Hannity followed. Most conservatives backed away from the use of the term, even as the provision was removed from the House version of the bill due to negative press.
Anyone notice what's wrong with this debate? I'll give you a hint. Sarah Palin was right and not in the same way that Rush was. Trig is a newborn. She was never referring to the end of life counseling when she coined the term death panel. She was talking about the panel of experts that decide what care is efficient and when. She was concerned that a Down Syndrome child who will likely never give a substantial contribution to society (other than smiling constantly and loving hugs, which is honestly probably the best contribution possible) would be denied care for such rudimentary things as colds because of the waste of resources. This expert panel does exist in the various bills. It would make treatment decisions for everyone in the country. And it would literally take an act of Congress to override their decisions. No appeals, no mercy, no treatment.
The greatest deception the Devil ever made was convincing man he didn't exist. Watch the terms the argument is made on before you've lost the point.

President Obama: Statesman, Politician, Ideologue, Moron and Asshole

Another great article from the American Thinker detailing the insults the President has leveled and what groups he has offended, including our closest natural ally, the United Kingdom.

A few thoughts of my own related to the article (you'll have to read it first to get the comments). Why does our president think that orthopedists treat diabetes? Or that the family doctor is going to be the one removing your child's tonsils?

I normally don't mind when our leaders offend France, but Nicolas Sarkozy is the closest thing to a friendly leader we've seen in France since they sent troops for the Revolution.

The Russian misstep is just hilarious.

His comments on Clarence Thomas after nominating the hack judge Sonia Sotomeyor are amazingly ignorant, especially for a supposed constitutional scholar.

What does the pattern suggest to you? A rookie political operative making honest mistakes? Or maybe an ideologue who thinks he so far above everyone else he just doesn't think about them?

As We Enshrine Senator Kennedy Among the Saints

For those readers unfamiliar with the events at Chappaquiddick Island, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts in 1969, here are the salient facts:

After a party on the island, Senator Edward Kennedy was driving a young staff worker, Mary Jo Kopechne somewhere late that night. He later said he was driving her to her hotel. She had, however, left her hotel key and pocketbook at the party.

Kennedy drove off the bridge to the mainland and plunged the car into the Poucha Pond inlet.

Kennedy managed to extricate himself with the car which was filling up with water. He later claimed that he had tried swimming to the car several times. Instead of immediately notifying the police he called a "Kennedy advisor." Kennedy spent the rest of that night huddled with "Kennedy advisors" to come up with a story. Later, Kennedy and two "Kennedy advisors" went to the scene of the accident and tried to swim to reach the car. None of the men thought they should notify the police.

Later Kennedy went back to his hotel room where he complained during the night that he couldn't sleep because of a loud party. That next morning Kennedy chatted with the winner of a sailboat race. Then Kennedy met with the same two "Kennedy advisors." The three men then went back to the scene of the accident. Still no one called the police. Using a pay phone there, Kennedy did call friends asking for advice.

Around that time fishermen had spotted the car in the water and called the police. A police diver later testified that, "Had I received a call within five to ten minutes of the accident occurring, and was able, as I was the following morning, to be at the victim's side within twenty-five minutes of receiving the call, in such event there is a strong possibility that she would have been alive on removal from the submerged car"

Kennedy who was standing nearby at a pay phone and saw the police had discovered the body. The police had run the license plate and discovered that the car belonged to Kennedy.

At around 10:00 AM Kennedy presented himself (with "Kennedy advisors") at the police station.

By the time he presented himself to the police a sobriety test was impossible.

The judge at the inquest decided that some of Kennedy's testimony about the events that night were lies. Nevertheless Kennedy was not prosecuted for anything more than leaving the scene of an accident. He got a two-month suspended sentence. The judge said that Kennedy had an "unblemished record" and that he had "been, and will continue to be punished far beyond anything this court can impose."

A man whose shtick was about fairness and equality was only too happy to be treated by Massachusetts officials in a manner no person not named Kennedy would be treated. The rest of us would have been sent to jail for criminally negligent homicide (at the least).

July 18, 2009 was the 40th anniversary of Mary Jo Kopechne's homicide. She would have been 68 today.

One of the more insightful comments on the blog is that this "friend of the working class" passed away at his home in Hiannis Port, one of the wealthiest and most elite areas in the country.

And the Lies Just Keep on Rolling

Despite blame being laid at the feet of those unruly people protesting health care reform, the vandalism of Democratic Party Headquarters in Colorado was perpetrated by a Democrat. In fact, it was a setup by the Service Employee's International Union, which shares an address with ACORN among many other groups that are supporters of President Obama and tied in to his administration. The concerted campaign of disinformation from the left is being used to try and villify anyone who disagrees with the administration. But then, President Obama always thought people were just a bunch of white hicks clinging to their guns and religion.

Flashback to Rathergate

Bernard Goldberg reports that on page 130 of the CBS investigation into the Dan Rather falsified documents on the Air National Guard service of President Bush, the producer of the show knew prior to airing the story that President Bush had volunteered to fly missions in Vietnam. The whole point of the report was to show President Bush as a draft dodger who had been secreted away into the Air National Guard to keep him out of Vietnam. Keep in mind that this story was released during the 2004 campaign in which John Kerry looked like a legitimate challenger to the President and much was made over Kerry's lying about his record in Vietnam by the "Swiftboat Veterans for Truth." Of course, some people beleive Bush somehow stole that election.
Not that I should be surprised by this but its just another brutal example of how far the left will go to smear the right. The very history we read in school has been distorted by liberals so that now we associate Senator Joseph McCarthy with the blacklisting of Hollywood actors, directors and producers. Sean Penn appears to base his entire political philosophy on his father being blacklisted. Of course, the blacklist was a result of the HOUSE, not Senate, Unamerican Activities Committee and HUAC was run by Democrats. But then, what does truth matter?

El Presidente on the President

You know the American Presidency has gone horribly wrong when Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro sympathizes with the President. Really, how screwed up is this? Casto even pulls the race card. I guess he and the President share communications strategists.

Update on Glenn Beck Boycott

I swear I posted my earlier comments on the advertiser boycott of Glenn Beck without realizing he'd exposed one of the founders already. While Beck didn't directly attack the boycott, he did spend much of his show focusing on Van Jones, the Green Jobs Czar (seriously, we have a green jobs czar), avowed Communist (I met all these young radical people of color -- I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.' I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary. I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th. By August, I was a communist), and co-founder of Colorofchange.org. It is unclear if Beck was truly attacking Jones as part of a rebuttal of the Colorofchange.org boycott, especially given that it appears to have had no real impact as the 36 advertisers mostly never slotted time on his program according to the Los Angeles Times article.
That Van Jones quote (from when he was in jail) reminds me of something familiar:
"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist Professors and the structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. " Barack Obama, "Dreams From My Father", 1995.
I encourage anyone who is interested to read through this set of quotes.

Now We Will See Astroturf

Democrats are planning over 500 pro-health care rallies. You know, the former Obama campaign which is now called Organizing for America, drumming up supporters to attend rallies where everyone will be listening rather than speaking their opinions. As Ann Coulter recently said, you can tell what liberals are doing by what they accuse you of. (The clip is worth watching just for Jim Norton's commentary.)

The Post-Racial Age We Live In

Isn't it nice living in this post-racial age? The messianic President Obama ushered peace and love upon all the Earth as he descended from heaven to rule over us all. Apparently he forgot to tell his followers that we're in that post-racial age. In true follower fashion, they are following his example of playing the race card before anyone else gets the chance. New York Governor David Paterson has accused his poor ratings on people being nervous about his being black. He even volunteered to pull the race card on behalf of another governor. Welcome to the post-racial age, where everyone who disagrees with a black person is a racist.

Europe to Consider Name Change to Either Moronville or Though Control Funland

Seriously, how far will this load of crap float? We should ban Greenpeace as it might ensult people prone to envy. As the Ad Council would hate for me to say, that's so gay.

Attorney General Eric Holder Shows How Power to be Wielded

Attorney General Eric Holder, who directed the dismissal of a lawsuit that was already won against members of the Black Panther party who stood in front of a Philadelphia voting location with weapons amongst other egregious acts, has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate CIA interrogation tactics. The administration has shown that it wields partisanship over all things.

Politically Correct Racists Cry Racism About Man Who Says Someone Else is Racist

When I first came across this story a few weeks ago it was circulating via emails and I was hoping it wasn't true. However, today Yahoo! ran the story that advertisers are pulling away from the Glenn Beck show. About one month ago on the Fox News Channel morning show "Fox and Friends", Glenn Beck expressed the opinion that President Barack Obama was a racist, as evidenced by his reaction to the arrest of Professor Henry Louis Gates. Personally, I tend to agree with Beck to the extent that I beleive President Obama puts far more value on race and it colors his opinions on almost every aspect of life. Colorofchange.org decided that this was intolerable and pressured his advertisers to pull out from the show, which they did. Now, I'm not one to call censorship when it comes to something like this. I didn't think it was censorship when the Dixie Chicks were pulled from many country stations for their opinions of President Bush. It is the free market working, not the government imposing its views.
This is different. Colorofchange.org co-founder James Rucker was the Director of Grassroots Mobilization at Moveon.org, the radical leftist group funded by Nazi collaborator and leftist billionaire George Soros. Moveon.org, the Service Employee's International Union and Acorn all have ties to this administration. Do you really think these are the people that watch Glenn Beck? The Dixie Chicks were pulled because the majority of country music listeners are conservatives and consider themselves fierce patriots. They were listeners to the Dixie Chicks who boycotted them for their comments. This is a wholly different situation. This is a leftist organization watching for any offense to shut down the wildly popular voices of the right.
The scary part is that it's working.

But Medicare Works Like a Charm!!

“While statistics are not available for the D.C. region, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission reported last week that nearly 30 percent of the 2.6 million Medicare beneficiaries seeking a new primary care physician between September 2007 and October 2008 had trouble finding one, up from 25 percent in 2005. To encourage primary care doctors to accept new Medicare patients, the commission recommended to Congress in June that it increase payments to those practitioners by redistributing payments for specialized care."
December 9, 2008, Washington Post.

Anecdotal evidence supports the model shown by the "Cash for clunkers" program that payment from Medicare is so slow that it endangers the businesses of those who accept it.
Finally, it is well known that Medicare is going broke and its going broke faster and faster.
The government health insurance option, much less single payer option, defies logic. It cannot be about universal health care alone because it is simply unsupportable on that basis.

MSNBC Caught in the Act

MSNBC ran a story on its television network about how a man carrying a gun at an Obama protest raised the specter of racial tensions against a black president. As they discussed racism against the President, they showed a photograph of the persons lower body, where a pistol was strapped on his belt and part of an AR-15 slung over his back. What the picture didn't show, and MSNBC never mentioned during its discussion of racial tensions was that the man was black.

At Least his Hypocracy Will Never Die

Senator Ted Kennedy (D. Mass.), who is suffering from terminal brain cancer, has asked that Massachusetts law be changed to enable the Governor to appoint a successor should he pass away. The state legislature (in theory expressing the will of the people rather than Mr. Kennedy) had amended the law in 2004 at his request to take that very same power away from the governor. See, at the time, Senator John Kerry (D. Mass.), serial inventor of war stories, was running for President. If he had won, then Governor Mitt Romney, a Republican, would have been able to name Kerry's replacement. Old Teddy couldn't have that, so he urged the state legislature to change the law and provide for a special election, which they did. Now, Teddy is afraid he's going to have to answer to God for Chappaquiddick before the vote comes down on health care. If he does pass away, the special election might take too long for the Democrats to pass the bill because they would not have the 60 vote supermajority that could overcome a filibuster. So, Mr. Kennedy is again asking the legislature to change the law to protect a seat in the Senate. At least his bitter partisanship will never die.

What Country Do We Live In?

Democrats are now probing into perfectly legal activities of insurance companies. There isn't even a pretense that they are searching for anything illegal. Representative Henry Waxman (D. Cali.), the most physically perfect human being to ever grace God's green Earth, is clearly on a fishing trip for information to smear private insurers to make the "public option" look more appetizing. These people disgust me (and not just because of the photo at right).

More Corruption in "New Chicago"

Senior Adviser to the President and serial spammer David Axelrod has ties to an ad firm that has benefited greatly from $24 million dollars in pro-Obamacare advertisements. Axelrod's son continues to work for the firm (nepotism) and he is owed $2 million dollars from the firm (conflict of interest.) But then this is the most transparent administration in history.

A Brief Note on Tort Reform

Tort reform is a red herring in the health care reform debate. There are several reasons for this:

1. The Federal government cannot implement tort reform because medical malpractice is controlled by state law.

2. Many, if not most, states already have implemented tort reform. Louisiana, for example, requires that medical malpractice cases be first brought in front of a board, which is made up of three doctors and a lawyer who doesn't get a vote (and if you think cops don't like snitching on one another, doctors are far more protective) prior to ever getting to trial. The panel's opinion can then be introduced as expert testimony in court. Also, damages are limited to $100,000.00 for most providers.

3. It's been a while since I looked at this, so I could be wrong, but I remember when studying health care economics that malpractice insurance constituted roughly 3% of the operating costs of a hospital or small boutique firm (like a 4 doctor orthopedic clinic).

4. Attorneys are easy targets and doctors are easy victims. Attorneys are portrayed as evil and doctors noble.

5. Doctors have the highest incidence of substance abuse of any profession. I used to date a nurse who talked about how the doctors showed up drunk for surgery much of the time. I also have a few other stories that I can't talk about but trust me, they aren't good.

6. If you study the malpractice literature, you'll find that the big awards are usually well deserved. For example, one of my old favorites was the OBGYN who liked to carve his initials on women's stomachs.

Would medicine be cheaper without lawsuits? Of course, but so would every industry. Generally, malpractice suits reflect the additional societal costs of the practice of medicine. If the doctor accidentally amputates your left foot instead of the right one, or leaves a pair of scissors in you after an appendectomy, that $100,000.00 cap is going to suddenly seem very unfair.

Stop Criticising the President By Comparing his Policies to Those of the Nazis, You Nazi

Rush Limbaugh has come under fire for calling President Obama a Nazi, despite having never done so. I'm more dissapointed that he didn't use the Fiat comparision the I like so much. (Fiat rule is rule by will rather than law, President Obama discarded federal bankruptcy law to sell Chevrolet to Fiat.) He did compare Nazi policies and ideals to those of President Obama, and effectively. Let's flash back a tad, shall we? Didn't Al Gore compare the threat of global warming to Nazism? Maybe the liberals are just angry because he took their tactic and made it reasonable.

Oh shit, come to think of it, aren't the protestors brown-shirts? A reference to the Nazi youth used by the left to denegrate the town hall protests. We are playing against people with no rules, who will change the rules to fit what they wish, will change language and definitions to lie, this is not the fun fight, but it certainly is the right one.

The Lines Have Been Drawn, Time to Pick a Fight

Matt Drudge (the Drudge Report refreshes so fast there's no point to linking it here) is reporting that the Democrats are going to be pushing through on health care regardless of Republican support. He has indicated the New York Times will be publishing this report.

The Democrats hold a majority in Congress which they legitimately won (and I'm not referring to the supermajority created by Al Franken's win, which is questionable at best). So do they have the right in a representative democracy to pass this legislation while increasing majorities of Americans are insisting they don't? From a Constitutional perspective, yes. There is nothing that can prevent this. Combined with the TARP, stimulus package, cap and trade, and the budget, if the Democrats push through health care the federal government, under the watch of a Republican who expanded government and then a Democrat who believes government is the answer to any question, has ignored the will of the American people. Each of these proposals faced massive opposition and yet the government moved forward. I can only hope that this time will be different. That the protests have made their mark. That the town halls have been heard. But I don't believe that for one second. And I think that this story is coming out now just shows how little our voices matter to those who would put government before and above the people.

One of These Kids Isn't Doing His Own Thing, One of These Kids is Just Like the Others

"All of our efforts to strengthen the economy will fail...let me say this again...I feel so strongly about this, all of our efforts to strengthen the economy will fail unless we also take this year, not next year, not five years from now, but this year, bold steps to reform our health care system." President Bill Clinton, State of the Union address, 1993.

Note the rhetoric hasn't changed. The country didn't collapse back then, it won't collapse now. The ultimate effect of universal health care won't be the destruction of the country either, though it is by no means a good idea. What it will destroy is conservatism. Once every single person in the country becomes dependent upon a government program or handout, there will no longer be room in this country for conservatives who look for inspiration to our Constitution. How could a conservative exist and successfully run for office on a platform that includes taking away health care benefits? Have you heard the outcry lately from people on welfare about how shitty welfare is? How about all those people who complain about how the government gives them public housing?

On the contrary, when Louisiana sought to tear down decrepit public housing with no one living in it after Hurricane Katrina, the outcry was profound. Note how similar these liberal protests appear compared to how the conservatives have been portrayed lately. (my favorite part is the fat hippy lady at the 6 minute mark or so talking about how the Bush administration was behind it and more, God bless the little moron) Keep in mind, these roach infested, flooded out, crime-ridden areas were quite likely the closest thing to Somalia available in the U.S. I remember one lady on T.V. crying out about how her family had lived there for three generations. Seriously. The woman was claiming generational pride in her family living in public housing for over 50 years. People become dependent upon government when government gives them something. They forget how to do anything for themselves.

Think a conservative could win based on his belief that government should not be providing housing in that district? With health care, everyone would be on the dole, and no conservative could ever win, at least without lying about his or her principles. That, in the end, is what I believe the move towards universal coverage and single payer system is truly about.

And, as Greg Gutfeld says, if you don't agree with me, then you are worse than Hitler.

Look, I Love Me Some Guns and All But...

There have been a number of confirmed reports of some protestors near the Presidential street routes carrying weapons. I'm pro-gun. I think anyone short of a felon should have a gun. I think if you own a gun you are less likely to be a victim of a crime. I think studies show that if concealed gun permits are issued, crime goes down. And I think you absolutely have the right to carry a gun next to a Presidential street route, locked, loaded and ready to fire. I sure don't think it is helping you get your point across. In fact, you look like a loon. Especially since there is no current controversy including gun control rights. Stop. I support your right, just exercise a bit of common sense. We need to focus on what is on the table now, not projecting fears of what may come.

Boys, I Think They're on to Us...

The White House, has apparently realized their attempt to have citizens snitch on one another was either illegal, immoral or unpopular (most likely the latter though all three are true) and pulled the email account for turning in those fishy emails spreading nasty rumors about health care. Of course, they haven't said they don't want you snitching, they just prefer to collect information through the Orwellian named "Reality Check" website. In all honesty, I'd like to think they shut it down after I sent my own little snitty response.

Not Getting Your Message Across? Change Your Lies With These Simple Orwellian Tools

So we've gone from health care reform to health insurance reform and now, though the public option is supposedly not necessary, the language has suddenly ramped up to indicate that it absolutely is. As usual, the language doesn't match what the English translation would suggest. Now it is being implied on radio and television that the public option is necessary to break up the monopoly of the health insurance industry. Wait....health insurance companies competing against each other is a monopoly?

Let's go ahead and assume for a second that the premise is correct, that consolidation of health insurance companies has led to monopolies in some markets. Let's even pretend that I'm not positive that markets are defined in these studies in such a way as to create the illusion of monopolies. What does government do about monopolies? Well, let's see, when the Justice Department took on Microsoft for bundling Internet Explorer with its operating system software, we created a government program which produced competitive cheap operating software with its own independent browser technology. Wait, we didn't do that? Well, surely back in the 1980's when AT&T was the telephone company monopoly, the solution was to create a government-run telephone company to compete with AT&T. Wait, you mean that didn't happen either?

OF COURSE NOT. The argument is pure idiocy. If government identifies a monopoly, it utilizes the Sherman Anti-Trust Act, or in the case of tying (bundling) arrangements, the Clayton Act and breaks up the company or agreement. The government fined Microsoft for its business practices. The government broke up AT&T into the individual Bell regional companies. The answer to monopolies is not to create a competing government, the purpose is to set the market back to a fair playing ground.

I am so sick of the blatant lies that come out of Washington, D.C. Most of these jackasses are lawyers who know that what I have said here is correct. They assume the rest of the country just isn't paying attention or is willing to let it slip over their heads rather than turning to a source that will explain or educate them. Maybe we should just send a big email to everyone in D.C. that says "I'm not stupid and I'm watching." Maybe that would scare them into telling the truth every now and then and not trying to fool people.

A Blatant Disregard for the People

Congressman Eric Massa (D. NY), who won a stunning mandate of a full 2% in his last election, has openly stated that he will "vote against the interests of my district" so that he can support a single payer health care system. Now let's be clear, this is a representative democracy and the people elect someone to represent them. They do not vote on each individual issue. A representative has to act with principle and to do what he believes is right, even if it may not be popular. The antidote for this is to remove them at the next poll. There is an argument that in the modern age, when the people's will is so quickly avaiable, that it would be irresponsible to ignore it completely.

But this goes beyond that. This particular member of Congress is showing himself to be an ideologue who does not respect the opinions of his constituents. He is not open to debate on this. Congress has its sessions designed so that the representatives can go back to their districts to speak with their people and go back to represent their wishes before the government. This is disturbing and it is more common than I would like. You may remember that the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) faced roughly 85% opposition from the public, yet the Bush administration pushed through the program along with Congress unheading of the public outcry. And we wonder why there is so much passion at the town halls? The American people feel ignored, and rightly so.

Yes, But Can He Dance the Filibuster?

Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay will be on the next season of "Dancing With the Stars". I wonder if he'll try to filibuster any negative votes.

Canadian Health Care System Sailing Right Along, Much Like Titanic

Reform was on the agenda at a meeting of Canada's doctors with the opinion being expressed that the system is not sustainable. While the doctors insisted that they weren't proposing a movement towards a system like that of the United States, they spoke of the inclusion of private health care delivery within the public system. The idea that this doctor had to travel across the world to figure out private health care can improve the efficiency of the Canadian system is ridiculous and, oddly enough, inefficient as hell.

The Bitch is Back

Yeah, I took some time off. Give me a break, I can't be angry all the time. Especially with the Texas Rangers in the playoff hunt this late in the season for the first time in a decade.

Freekin' Sweet!!

I'm a bit surprised by this one. Apparently Karl Rove has confirmed that he will play a role next season on "Family Guy" and Rush Limbaugh is rumored to be appearing as well (Rove was referred to on previous shows as the Emporer from Star Wars and some evil faceless demon). This is the same program that showed a baby dressed up as a Nazi SS soldier with a "McCain/Palin" pin on his lapel during the campaign. This is the program that had an episode where the main character changed the timeline, Al Gore won in 2000, and the world was nearly perferct. I did always enjoy that President Clinton was depicted as a chubby chaser who seduced the wife and then the husband.
I loved this show when it first came out. As it became more political it became more angry, and there were two or three episodes which were just not funny, they were angry. The idea that Seth McFarlane, who has traditionally been very liberal, might open up the show for some storylines putting air time for well known conservatives might be an interesting move. I hope they do not devolve to what they have done with Republicans and suddently use characterizations similar to the Nazi skit mentioned above for Obama. Criticism by humor is always good, but when it stretches into anger it isn't funny anymore.

So If the Public Option is Off the Table, What are We Talking About?

Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebilius, said that a public option is not a necessary part of the health care reform being pushed by the administration. Considering the plans before the House and Senate all include that option it seems like a bit of a headfake. "Oh, we weren't pushing it, but since it's there..." So what remains? President Obama is still intent on controlling costs and expanding coverage. So the only way to do the former is...........wait, it will come to me.....price controls outside of the reform package. Maybe the Pay Czar can dictate what doctors make and how much hospital administrators can make. After all, this administration has consistently shown itself to be anti-capitalist. The only way to expand coverage is to regulate who the insurance industry is allowed to write policies for and under what conditions, i.e., more regulation.
Is it illogical to conclude that the fascist option is what's on the table? Like the new FDA run tobacco industry, fascism is where government dictates business policies while the businesses remain in the hands of private individuals. Similarly, the logical next step, and indeed, consistent with the policies we are aware of, government would simply dictate all aspects of the helath insurance industry while leaving it in private hands. The bills already seek to limit the amount of deductibles. So that health care savings plan you have would not work because the deductible is too high, and catastrophic coverage would be a thing of the past as we force the insurance companies must take care of every contingency including routine checkups that would cost less to pay out of pocket than the premium.
Look, from an economic perspective, additional insurance will drive up cost. Increasing the number of insured only guarantees that prices and costs will go up. I believe the solution must be to deregulate the insurance industry. If anything, let's encourage purchases of catastrophic care policies rather than maintenance programs that pay for you to go to the doctor for every sniffle or sneeze. Let's increase the number of physicians to expand availability of care. Let's not let government do what it has done with every social welfare movement in history, create a class of people dependent upon government.

Update: Media May be Biased, Leftists May be Hypocrites

Reading this article may be hazardous for anyone with high blood pressure.

Blatant Show of Disrespect by Public Servant

Representative Sheila Jackson Lee (D. Tex) who you may remember has people scouting funerals for her to speak at, decided it would be proper to take a cell phone call in the middle of questioning by one of her constituents at a town hall. If she had any sense of duty, she would resign. If she's not unemployed after the next election, Houston should resign.

Electric Car to Cut Pollution, Destroy Reality

Neat, it can get 230 miles to the gallon. Then you can take it home and charge it back up on the electrical grid powered by coal. How retarded are we willing to be?

Is Barack Obama's Advisor Assisting in Killing American Soldiers?

Bill O'Reilly reports that IEDs used in Iraq and Afghanistan and supplied through Iran have components traceable to GE, whose CEO is a financial advisor to this administration. GE has long been known to contract with Iran, but now information may be finally coming out that shows just how ruthless this company has been.
In all seriousness, I am shaking right now because of the anger I feel towards this company and it's association with our current president. This is, after all, the parent company of NBC, which has been in the bag for President Obama from the beginning. This is unacceptable. If President Obama has any knowledge of this, and I can't imagine that he doesn't, he has committed treason and participated in the death and dismemberment of American soldiers by getting in bed with GE. This has to be answered for.
I will back this up with additional information later.

I Give You the President, Who Thinks the Government Must Pay

If it weren't for how badly the American people will suffer under a health care program, the President accidentally admitting the one semi-private government organization suffers against the competition would be funny.
In the meantime, the lies continue. The President claims that the AARP has endorsed this monstrosity, but even ABC with nose firmly up his ass can figure out that AARP has not endorsed any plan.
Captain Insulation didn't even face criticism as he attacked the opponents of health care. He may not even realize the deification that goes on around him. Was he ignorant of the fact that there were no opponents at the meeting or did he know and pose the challenge to come forward knowing none would answer?
The great question to ask at this point, opponent or otherwise, is which plan is yours Mr. President? He claimed he did not know what was in the House bill. The four bills in the Senate have not gotten out of committee for anyone to review. So how can he talk about "his" plan (I forget, should that be a capital h for the deity?).

At What Point Are They Dissaproval Ratings?

So, Mr. President, things seem to be working out just fine.

I Have Nothing Smarter Than Wow

I just saw an advertisement on my blog for aethiest dating. I don't control these ads and they change so frequently it may not be there by the time this posts. Seriously, if your main concern about a partner is that they not scream God's name during sex, you probably should go ahead and kill yourself.

I Am So Pissed at That Mystelplistix Guy

Josh Hamilton slipped. Tim Cowlishaw, a big market sports columnist and frequent guest on nationally televised sports shows knows the feeling. Hamilton chose to live his live for Christ when he got sober. He inspired Yankee Stadium to chant his name during a home run derby he dreamt he'd be at. He is an exceptional athlete. When he fell down, people pounced. The national media didn't attempt to destroy him, they reported it, and some called his owning up to it the right thing to do. Josh is just another human being with an incredible athletic talent. He may never have another great year like he had in 2008. He may fade from memory, like many athletes, talented but too fragile to play. But that isn't the point of this post.

Why, if I may ask, is it that people find God offensive? Ask yourself, do you believe in God. If the answer is no, ask yourself if you are offended by people who do. Then ask yourself if you are sane because you are offended by something that you believe doesn't exist. If you don't realize how moronic this is, call me, I'll be by your home shortly to kick you in the head.

Christ tells us to turn the other cheek. I'm willing to go to hell to stop the facial rotation. If you are an atheist, don't complain about those of us who like to think the universe has order beyond Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle. Don't call us stupid, because we believe in God and you believe in quantum physics dictating that particles come to being and disappear again in less that two shakes (which I'm told is a fraction of a nanosecond short for two shakes of a lamb's tale).

We have reached a critical point in this country, and maybe the world, though I think it is more evident here. I will never understand how atheists are offended by something they don't believe in. I can understand how they don't want it pushed on them, but look at the link above, they have to be aggressive about it. This level of hatred is not healthy and cannot lead to good things. In the same vein, anyone reacting in kind is just giving fodder to the point advocated by the opposition. I think the anger is misdirected, though I'm not sure of the source yet.

God loves you, even if you don't believe in him. I love you, even if you don't believe in me. My mother thinks your an asshole. I have no control on that one.

So how can you be offended by something you don't believe in? I have a friend who is convinced that the Aztec calender thing is right and the world ends in 2012 or whenever. I'm not angry that he believes it. I try to point out the logical inconsistencies in his beliefs on it, but even though I will tell him straight up that I think he's wrong, I don't disrespect him as a person. We need to remember to be a little more polite.

Where's Waldo? That Lying Son of a Bitch

As a conservative libertarian, I try to listen to all sides of a debate, even though I know going in which way the lies will fall (and don't judge, there are lies on both sides of the congressional aisles). So I occasionally watch Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman, who hurts me most of all because he used to be a good sportscaster, and see what is being said. Take a look at this video, watch it all the way through, and, like me, use it as a diet pill. I've lost 15 pounds watching Rachel Maddow, and it's not her haircut, it's the stream of lies that makes me vomit like a candidate for "America's Next Top Model". Keep in mind that MSNBC is owned by GE, whose CEO is an economic advisor to the President, despite driving GE stocks into the ground (I'm still working on that post). She can't even get through the intro to the piece without telling three lies (that I counted). See if you can count the innacuracies. It may be hard, since she doesn't utilize source material. I stopped at about 30. GE...we bring good lies to life!

About Last Post

I am not a "birther". I do think it's possible that a couple came in to the country and had a birth announcement made in the papers to ensure citizenship of their child, but in all honesty, even if that were the case, is that the President's fault? I couldn't tell you why he won't take the step to release the original certificate, so, in part, he is driving that controversy, but then why not distract critics to pointless exercises. President Barack Obama is, as far as I'm concerned, a born American citizen. He just happens to be the worst American citizen that I know of.

I Had No Idea How Much I Feared Canada

Canada, which is nearly split in half by French separatists. The French, known for their tenacious fighting spirit. The Canadians, so violently independent that they still celebrate the Queen of England's birthday. I remember being in St. John, New Brunswick, in 2003 or 2004 and hearing how Canadians were behind us militarily. Of course, there had been a hockey game and beer, so who knows. I remember being in Montreal in 2002 and the daily stories in the French language newspapers about the highly succesful sniper teams, maybe the best in the world, all apologies to our boys, who were working in the war against terror. I made many friends that I've long since forgotten in my few trips to Canada. The forgetting might be chalked up to the beer. After all, La Fin Du Monde doesn't exactly hide what it is going for at 13% alcohol by volume. But all this time, I never knew I feared Canada. I never knew I how my unreasoning spite for them drove my analysis of a health care program which the President says is not similar. I never knew I needed to apologize to the Canadian people for making them boogeymen. Thank you, Mr. President, for apologizing to yet another country on my behalf. For my ignorance and prejudice, I can only say thank God that we now have a president who thinks less of his constituents than the rest of the world, otherwise, I'd have no idea what a piece of shit I am. Thank you, President Obama, for making sure we know our place as fearmongering, ignorant bastards. We are so much less than you, who understands the transgressions we have made. Thank you for apologizing for what we didn't know we've done wrong. Thank you for not being American.

What's Happening? (2009)

Rerun is back!!! Oh, sorry, wrong show.

I didn't really agree with this guy's tactics when I first saw him loudly getting in a Congressman's face about his son with cerebal palsy. Though I've posted befoe about the hypocrisy of Democrats complaining about a tactic they've worshipped, I prefer calm debates with the anger coming in the form of shouts of agreement or clapping when a point is made. That said, I also don't discount the passion that is out there right now and appreciate those feelings. Just don't go shouting "read the bill" for an hour without listening to see whether or not they've read the bill.
That said, what changed my mind about this particular person was when I heard an interview which him that explains why he was shouting. It seems, and the video appears to support it that this occurred at the end of the meeting, unlike what the previous link would have you believe. It seems that questions were submitted in writing by the crowd and none were allowed to speak. The organizers picked out the questions they would answer, basically putting on a show. There were also some who were allowed to come behind the door behind him in the video, to have further open discussion while the others were left out. That is when the father, who was concerned his son would not be given any treatment under the reforms, began to confront the Congressman, as he wasn't allowed to speak for his son during the allotted time. It also explains his emotion when he's talking about the right to speak on his behalf.
I'm not sure what to say about this other than ask: what is left to a democratic society when the representative, who is a servant, feels he is above those who empower him, and indeed, feels his opinion is above theirs.

I FOUND ONE!!!!!

The following is a copy of the text of the email I sent to flag@whitehouse.gov, the website for reporting those who might be giving out disinformation regarding the current health care reform initiatives (unfortunately, my e-mail doesn't have spellcheck, so forgive any errors):
Re: Disinformation about health care
I recently received an email from someone who I think is distributing disinformation about health care, and has even set up a website for that very purpose. His name is David Axelrod. He is a senior advisor to the President. There are a number of lies on the website, Reality Check and the address is http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/?e=10&ref=text.

For example, the first video on the website, entitled "Reform will stop 'rationing' - not increase it", is clearly wrong, even grammatically. Rationing happens daily in our lives. We choose to purchase so much of an object in order to afford so much of another. Typically, the government does not make that decision. In health care, we have seen that in other countries governement involvement results in reductions of service choices. In the very bill being put forth at this time, there is the board that would be created to decide what treatments are effective, like the one that resulted in the denial of breast cancer drugs to British women. It would litterally take an act of Congress to overrule their decisions on such things. I call that rationing. The video demonizes the insurance companies use of rationing. At least if your insurance doesn't cover something, you can try to pay for it yourself or raise the money. If government has decided the care doesn't get approved, it's not available to anyone, ever.

Let's take a look at the second of the six videos, shall we? "The 'euthanasia' distortion on help for families" talks about how people have been saying the proposed reforms would encourage or require euthanasia for seniors. While that statement may be true on its face, as euthanasia would actually require affirmative actions, the end of life counseling currently in the bill is just downright creepy. Even the President said that rather than a heart replacement a pill might be a better choice. My grandfather is 85 and recently had both knees replaced. The President has said take a pill. Not only would his quality of life decreased dramatically without the replacements, so would his health as it became too painful to walk and exercise regularly. This is not "euthanasia" per se, just cruel.

The third video, I honestly cannot comment upon, it may actually be true, but given the general tenor of the website and its source, I find it suspicious nonetheless. Especially strange is the claim that health care reform would somehow expand access to veterans who have been denied access in the past. So the health care reform would actually expand the care mandates of the VA system? That just doesn't sound right. Of course, I seem to remember something from the campaign about how bad the VA hospitals were, so maybe it just means more crappy care. That would make sense.

Number four is hillarious!! It suggests that small businesses will suddenly be free of their obligation to provide health coverage to employees as they can now shuffle off this burden to the federal government which, in turn, will surely reduce, rather than raise their taxes to cover the additional expenses. Oh, my side hurts from laughing, I'd better rush out to the VA.

Number five is also clearly wrong. If health care reform would eliminate waste and unnecessary subsidies to insurance companies in Medicare, clearly it would have already done so as Medicare has existed for some time already....that is, unless it is suggesting that government programs tend to be inefficient in the first place. Nah.....that's just crazy talk, look at how well Social Security is doing as the largest Ponzi scheme in the world.

My absolute favorite and clearly the most misleading is number six. I mean, we all know that the provisions of the one version of the bill that anyone has gotten to read includes a provision that would ban the writing of any new policies after the date it became effective, as well as ensure that even minor changes would invalidate private policies, forcing people into the public option.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know about the website. Make sure you stop these people and their disinformation.

Love,
Mark Ladd

P.S. By the way, since federal law prohibits your collection of data that will automatically be collected by my sending this email, and federal law prevents you from deletin the information, how is this legal? But then, President Obama has already shown his disregard for federal law in the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies.

Democrats on Edge

Representative David Scott (D. Ga.) who supports a government option (which will never be truly just an option) yelled at a local urologist, accusing him of failing to call his office to set a meeting and for showing up from outside of his district, all of which was incorrect. It seems the Democrats are getting paranoid and seeing daggers in the shadows, but then, when you build an administration on lies, its only understandable to be paranoid.

Corruption Uption What's Your Function....(Please tell me you guys get the reference)

Representative Edolphus Towns (D. New York) head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is reportedly blocking subpoenas from that very Committee to Countrywide Mortgage because he benefited from a sweetheart deal himself.

Now Taking All Opinions But Yours

Now there has been violence at a town hall in Florida on health care reform. Funny how this didn't happen until President Obama mobilized the unions to counteract the rising outcry from the people, including this Democrat. President Obama, who Lanny Davis on Bill O'Reilly said that he was sure everyone could agree does not want to silence debate, has said he doesn't want to hear from the people he accuses of causing the mess. The Democrats are being told to hit back twice as hard. President Obama, channeling Sean Connery in "The Untouchables" is talking about bringing a gun to a knife fight. The Chicago way, indeed. This is a community organizer who is scared to death of loosely organized opposition to him.

The Democrats continue to describe health care protestors as Nazis. While I don't necessarily approve of simply shouting down Congressmen at these debates rather than raising concerns through civil discussion (as most have done), what nerve does it take to accuse people of Nazi tactics when the liberals have used more extreme tactics for years? Has anyone thrown pies, as they did at Ann Coulter? Have they invaded the stage, shouting down the Congressmen to the degree the liberals did the Minutemen, one of whom was reportedly called a nigger? Don't even get me started on Code Pink and Cindy Sheehan. The truly outrageous and disgusting tactics are reserved for the left.

Every day it becomes clearer that this is the most duplicitous, hypocritical and tyrannical administration to ever come to power. Peaceful resistance will prevail given the time and effort being put forth now. We may actually see this administration kneecapped by the 2010 mid-term elections. The Shadow Democracy is waiting to emerge from the shadows.

$500 Million Dollar Taxi

Apparently the $200 million in Gulfstream Jet purchases wasn't enough to haul around our elected representatives. It is being reported now that $550 million is being allocated by Congress to upgrade the Congressional taxi fleet. Seriously. I think my brain is bleeding.

Holy Shit, We Won!!!

The war on terrorism is over!!!! Oh, wait, no it isn't, we just won't call it that anymore. We're at war with Al Qaeda. I guess this means we're down with other terrorists now. No wonder former President Bill Clinton could go pick up two women and actually be praised for it. Guess he must not have told them to "kiss it" like he did with Monica Lewinsky and others. This is what happens when you have a wannabe European administration. Symbolism is more important than reality. I wonder if this might have anything to do with why we're struggling in Afghanistan.

You Mean You Didn't Notice it was a Joint Account with the Federal Government?

Rush Limbaugh and others are reporting that the federal government under the health care bill would have direct deposit access to your bank accounts in order to pay for treatment. This is reportedly located on p. 52 or 58 of the House version of the bill. I'll seek to confirm this later. Scary stuff.

Come Fly With Me

The House Appropriations Committee was requested to purchase a single Gulfstream Jet by the Air Force at $65 million but instead approved three at $200 million so that two would be available to ferry about our most esteemed Members of Congress and other top government officials. The purchase was not called an earmark, so the purchase order is essentially anonymous. These are the same people who excoriated CEOs of the big three automakers for flying to a congressional hearing from Detroit. But then, the CEOs were only asking for taxpayer money at that time, Congress already has it to waste.

Stop Disagreeing with the President, You Nazis!,

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D. Cali.) has accused people objecting to current health care reform proposals of carrying swastikas. Note the Nazi imagery in comparison to the administrations symbolism for President Obama's health care program beneath it. The utilization of the eagle, the throngs of people in the background and the symbol within the circle representing the party (or Obama's campaign symbol). So maybe she was mistaken and saw health care supporters carrying what she thought were Nazi symbols. After all, the Nazi's were fascists, fascists use government to control industry, leaving the industry in private ownership, kind of like what President Obama has done to the tobacco industry, the auto industry, the insurance industry....

Major Health Care Reform "Our Sacred Duty"

Senator Jay Rockefeller (D. W.Va.) has stated that major health care reform must be passed by the end of the year and it is their "sacred duty". President Obama continues to talk about passing health care legislation with or without the support of Republicans and that it must be done soon. The only way this urgency makes sense is out of fear that the more the people know about the plan, the less they will support it. Sacred duty? Sacred cow.

BIg Brother is Watching

Shhhhh.....don't talk about opposition to President Obama's health care plans too loudly. They want to know about it. The White House is recruiting people to inform on any of that fishy disinformation floating around about health care which most of us refer to as the truth. I'm surprised they haven't labeled dissenters domestic terrorists and just started wire-tapping them.

UPDATE : It didn't take long for someone to call out the White House on this. Senator John Cornyn (R. Tex.) called out President Obama's administration for this moronic policy.

The Almost Pathological Lies Coming From the Adminstration

The administration attacked the Drudge Report in this video regarding a posting that President Obama wanted to get rid of private health insurance, calling it disinformation. Of course, if you watch the video Drudge posted, it's crystal clear that President Obama, then Senator, is talking about the elimination of private health care insurance. This is not the first time that the administration has contradicted prior statements avialable on video. Remember how the media invented the deadline to pass health care legislation? If the administration was your uncle it would be the one that always told wild stories that you rolled your eyes at, kind of like my nephews do to me.

The Chicago Way Lives On

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's tactics apparently have become so brutal and overbearing that Representative Daniel Issa (R. Cali.), yes, that does in fact say Republican from California, felt it necessary to issue this press release through the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. It's nice to think our elected government in a democracy is resorting to thuggery to push through its agenda when it starts losing public support. It's even worse to think that they are resorting to threats to silence criticism. No wonder President Obama will speak with dictators without precondition, he aspires to be one.

Welcome to the Revolution

It has begun and it is beautiful. Check out this video of Arlen Specter (whatever party I think can get me elected, Penn.) and Katherine Sebilius, Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Sevices (I'm not a Congressman, so I can't talk about legislation) getting nailed by your average ordinary citizen and the crowd destroying them.

Why So Few Black Serial Killers?

I read "The Root" every now and then because I feel I need to be reminded about my slave owning days and how I'm keeping masses of people down (except the minorities I represent). But complaining about how your are underrepresented on "The Bachelorette" is like complaining that not enough minorities appear in the new security company advertisements that keep showing creepy white guys who look disturbingly similar to myself breaking into homes. The Bachelorette is the representation minorities are looking for? I would think "I Love New York" would be enough evidence that anyone who wants to be on TV is probably a bad representation of humanity. If we're destroyed by aliens, it will be the reality TV transmissions that doomed us.

I Have a Theory

When the President promised not to raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000.00 I think he expected that by this point in his presidency, no one would be making that other than government employees. So we should probably give him a break now that his people are trying to backtrack that promise.

A Sudanese Rosa Parks

This is a very brave woman. What lengths would any of us be willing to go to for our beliefs?

Law for the Lazy

I'm no ambulance chaser but this is a dream case. The driver was texting on one phone and speaking on another, hit a car and veered into a pool. No one was injured that I'm aware of, but come on....proving negligence would be fun.

Who Told You it Was Your Money?

Do you work for yourself or do you work for the various governments that oversee you? Do you even keep half of your income after you factor in such things as state income tax, sales tax, gasoline taxes, etc., not to mention the hidden costs of such things as food driven up by gasoline taxes, your energy bill being cranked up by taxes on energy production. Do you rent the land you live on to pay for the government with your labor? Are you a peon? A surf?

This is not President Obama, though he could care less, this is how government in the United States has been evolving since the turn of the century. And so now, prepare for more. Two administration advisors have come out admitting that taxes are probably going up, including on the middle class, the supposed sacred cow of the Obama administration. Of course you may want to keep in mind that the middle class just means anyone making more than those in public housing to these morons.
You remember Ed Wallace signing off saying "Good night and good luck." while McCarthy was going after communists? McCarthy was right and the communists were found in the State Department, where he was looking for them. Hollywood was assaulted by Democrats searching for public targets, leading to the blacklists. The lies have gotten so deep that McCarthy was involved in the House UnAmerican Activities Committee. He was a Senator. If you don't understand the difference you probably voted for Obama. But I tell you today that we, as taxpayers, are under assault and so is our freedom. So I tell you now, good night and good luck. I pray I'm wrong, but this isn't getting better.

Celebrity Gives All

"'Once I got a taste of it, I went: 'I can do anything. I can do absolutely anything.' And you start to believe it. I know it to be true because I've seen it happen. I've experienced it. I'm ambitious. I try to make it look like it's not work -- that's the biggest key. I've got it pretty good. There's no sense in making life seem like it's a struggle, because that doesn't make anybody feel better.'" That's a quote from Ashton Kutcher found on OMG. It sounds a lot like the Tom Cruise Scientology video, which is creepy as hell. Think what you like and tell me what you think here.

The Guardian Knights of the Obama Administration

While I wouldn't necessarily adopt the title of this video post with respect to NBC's Matt Lauer losing his cool during an interview with Michelle Malkin, I would note a few things here. First, NBC and MSNBC have been in bed with President Obama for a long time. As we all know, Jeffrey Immelt, the CEO of GE, NBC's parent company, holds a position as an economic advisor to President Obama and GE has helped shape much of the legislation coming out of the Democratic controlled Congress as well as benefiting from such legislation (I'm planning a large post later on laying out all of this in more detail.) So, I ask that you watch Lauer, a journalist, not a commentator, in this interview and see if you feel he is being objective or defensive on behalf of the administration. Then, at the end of the video, I'd like you to note the look on his face and listen because you can here him twisting up the papers in his hand into a roll over the audio feed. This is a guy who was clearly angered by the interview. Objectivism in the some of the mainstream media, especially the media controlled by GE, is dead, and probably has been for years.

What is the Definition of a Rebel?

I had been thinking about this since long before the Fu Fighters asked John McCain to pull the "Here Comes My Hero" song. Why is it that people in rock n' roll, punk, metal, etc., tend to support the left? Is it rebellious to scream give me health care? Take care of me from cradle to grave? Fill my gas tank and pay my mortgage? That's the rebellious independent spirit of music? Green Day, U2, the Black Eyed Peas and bands like them have rode the liberal wing of politics for years. It's so punk rock to ask the state to take care of your insurance.....wait.
So I was stoked to hear this on Glenn Beck's radio program and it is posted on his website and it appears he's hooking the guy up to have it produced into a single. Seven fathers on a lonely road is a great description of where we stand and what we face now. Not to mention, the song is kind of catchy. Hell, it should be a movie, seven founding fathers facing the distortion of a nation. Ben Franklin shooting electricity...well, you get the idea. Check out the song and think about what the Federalist Papers say and what those fathers would think about their children.
