When I first came across this story a few weeks ago it was circulating via emails and I was hoping it wasn't true. However, today Yahoo! ran the story that advertisers are pulling away from the Glenn Beck show. About one month ago on the Fox News Channel morning show "Fox and Friends", Glenn Beck expressed the opinion that President Barack Obama was a racist, as evidenced by his reaction to the arrest of Professor Henry Louis Gates. Personally, I tend to agree with Beck to the extent that I beleive President Obama puts far more value on race and it colors his opinions on almost every aspect of life. Colorofchange.org decided that this was intolerable and pressured his advertisers to pull out from the show, which they did. Now, I'm not one to call censorship when it comes to something like this. I didn't think it was censorship when the Dixie Chicks were pulled from many country stations for their opinions of President Bush. It is the free market working, not the government imposing its views.
This is different. Colorofchange.org co-founder James Rucker was the Director of Grassroots Mobilization at Moveon.org, the radical leftist group funded by Nazi collaborator and leftist billionaire George Soros. Moveon.org, the Service Employee's International Union and Acorn all have ties to this administration. Do you really think these are the people that watch Glenn Beck? The Dixie Chicks were pulled because the majority of country music listeners are conservatives and consider themselves fierce patriots. They were listeners to the Dixie Chicks who boycotted them for their comments. This is a wholly different situation. This is a leftist organization watching for any offense to shut down the wildly popular voices of the right.
The scary part is that it's working.
