Congress, clearly the grouping of the finest business minds in the country, what with needing to increase the national debt limit by a mere $1.8 trillion to accommodate their nearly unending ability to spend money (and do it now lest Americans get the mistaken impression Democrats have a spending problem come the 2010 elections), have thankfully made the first move in substituting their financial acumen into almost every aspect of financial markets. House Democrats, without a single Republican vote and 27 opposing Democrats (yay!), passed landmark financial regulation legislation today. I would like to personally extend my thanks to the idiots in Congress who think they're smarter than everyone else on the planet and know how to do everything better. When asked what basis the House had to pass the regulation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D. Cali.) yelled out "I AM THE LAW".
