Presidential Candidate Herman Cain has steamed ahead in recent polls after his upset win at the Florida straw poll. A new CBS poll has Cain tied atop the candidates with former Massachusettes Governor Mitt Romney. With a number of states moving up their primaries as early as January 2012 it will be significant who is in the leading position at the end of this year. Cain seems to have the momentum and support right now to capitalize on these early primaries and be the eventual Republican nominee. Given his admitted weakness on foreign policies, his choice of Vice President will be key (the situation was the same when President Obama picked Vice President Biden) and I would hope he would strongly consider former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich for that position. Gingrich would have the additional benefit of bringing serious policy experience to the ticket to balance Mr. Cain's lack of public sector work. Right now, I'm on board for Mr. Cain.
