Charlie Rangel, Man of the People...or Not

The Washington Post is calling for Representative Charlie Rangel (D. NY) to resign as chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee for his sudden realization that he has a whole lot more money and property than he was tellling. He suddenly found more money than most Americans will make in a lifetime...at least adjusted for President Obama's hyperinflation. What are the odds? Charlie is above the law. After all, he was calling for people who make mistakes on their taxes to face far stiffer penalties than he faced, inducing Representative John Carter (R. TX) to try and introduce the "Rangel Rule" allowing tax payers to avoid penalties and interest for paying late. Not to mention, he's being judged by a favorable crowd, having contributed to three Democratic members of the ethics committee investigating him. It's playing to a stacked deck.
Of course, if you don't agree with him, you're just a racist anyway.
