People often bemoan the lack of civilized discussion, the failure to meet a common ground in modern political discourse. You broker honesty with the dishonest. And so I give you Washington Post columnist Katrina vanden Heuvel, who thinks that the Republican Party is trying to roll back science. I would note for Ms. Heuvel that if you are seeking scientific credibility, Al Gore is probably not your best source. People such as Ms. Heuvel are the death of the very reason and rational logic they proclaim.
