"Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren." One might think this to be the outcry of a fiscal conservative regarding the outrageous spending policies of President Barack Obama. It's not. It's that same President Barack Obama, who seems determined to make the United States of America money like a gambling addict, in 2006 protesting the Bush Administration spending policies and a vote to raise the debt cap. For what it's worth, I would have agreed with him had I seen the quote back then. Now it just makes me want to laugh, cry or curl up in the fetal position.
It's nice that the Hill is there to cite that statement as President Obama now approaches the Senate insisting they must raise that same debt limit. Some have said the President Obama is trying to bankrupt the country in order to rework the nation into a welfare state. Trying?
