In the United Kingdom's parlimentary system, the opposing coalition or party often refers to itself as the shadow government. Under Barack Obama and previous government expansionist presidents, democracy itself has become the shadow government, the party of opposition laying in wait in the hope that it can take over some day.

Jane Roe Arrested at Sotomayor Hearing Protesting Abortion
It is kept relatively quiet in media circles and among liberals, but, after the landmark decision in Roe v. Wade, the plaintiff, alias Jane Roe, Norma McCorvey, became an activist crusading against abortion after converting to Christianity. Ms. McCorvey was one of four anti-abortion protesters arrested during the course of the first day of hearings on Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor's nomination.
