This bears watching and the story has been developing really since the start of this Presidency, but it seems President Obama is trying his damndest to alienate Israel, the only democracy in the middle east and a long standing friend to the United States.

  1. Although his foreign relations have definiteley come up short. I believe this issue is a bit of a retalliation for the housing announcement made during Biden's visit to Israel. I actually think they deserved a bit of a slap in the face.

  2. This is more than a slap in the face and it's been going on since long before the housing announcement. Also, the housing announcement is a manufactured crisis as these are not settlements or encroachments and don't violate the existing agreements. They are in Jerusalem, not the West Bank or Gaza Strip. I've been looking for a Charles Krauthammer article I think he wrote on this subject and will post it once I've located it.

  3. Manufactured in what way? That it was even a crisis? I'm pretty ignorant on the actual politics of why they are not supposed to build there but, they obviously were not,and to announce this planned build while the VP was actually in town was definetly a shot at american authority in the situation. Whether this was a retaliation for a previous slap in the face or not could be an issue, so please straighten me out if it is.
