Caught in the Act

After controversy erupted over the creepy attempt by the administration to indoctrinate the nations children, the White House has withdrawn some of the creepier language such as having assignments on how student's can help the President, not the country, the President. Is the administration removing language that wasn't intentional because of its appearance of indoctrination? Or is it that they just got caught in the act? It would be easier to grant them the former if it weren't for all the other instances. Like the National Endowment for the Arts enlisting artists to support the President and his domestic agenda. Or the cult of personality that had celebutards pledging allegiance to be a servant of the President. Last I checked, he was supposed to be the servant to the people, hence the term "public servant". I believe, given the culture that has sprung up in Washington, D.C., the administrations various moves and beliefs, and the cult of personality that the White House was caught in the act. It never occurred to them that indoctrinating children to the Messianic Obama was wrong.

Stop Paying Attention to My Scare Tactics and Look at Theirs!!!

I love this shot. I may make it a T-shirt. Read the article. Who is scaring whom? Take a close look at the picture. She's not in a doctor's office. She's not in an ER room. It looks like an open area. There are only two real choices here, is it a free clinic (set up with whatever available building there is, hence the wide open room) or is it staged? I'm guessing the free clinic. Which still means the story is utilizing an unrelated picture. I still enjoy laughing at this.
I deal with doctors on a daily basis. They often have this kind of conversation. My experience, as an attorney on the liberal(plaintiff's) side, dealing with the liberal doctors, is that they hate everything about government care. The conservative ones aren't more favorable, in my experience. So who is fear mongering here? I suggest you look at the picture that had nothing to do with the story and make your own conclusion.

Maybe Ted Kennedy Thinks Mary Joe Would Think it Was Worth It

A recent Huffington Post contributor suggested that Mary Joe Kopechne might have thought Chappaquiddick was worth it, that her drowning that supposedly changed Senator Ted Kennedy to be a great public servant, would have been worth her life. Senator Harry Ried (D. Nev.) has apparently taken up that call, saying his death "is going to help us", that is, Democrats in the drive for health care. Take it as you will. I'm considering vomiting.

Stop All Government Inteference!! No means no!!! Don't Put the Fire Out at My House!!!

I don't think there is going to be a need for links on this post, but I never know until I write it and have to back it up. One of the thinks we fail to do most often as conservatives or originalists or constitutionalist or libertarians or whatever is to fail to tell the rational portion of the left, the compassionate morons, that we have the same goals. "What?", you ask. We do. Honestly, I'm guessing you already know this, but no one is having the conversation. For example, health care. As I said before, I'll pay for someone else's care if they need it, but I won't force someone else to. Do I believe in the National Endowment for the Arts? I believe the Constitution establishes the power with the Congress to support the arts. I think it has gone horribly wrong. I think George Washington would probably challenge the guy who put a cross in a jar of urine to a duel and I'm guessing he'd win. Do we want to end homelessness? Of course, and we want them to have jobs and we'll donate to the shelters and the churches, but we don't want to force you to do it if you don't agree. We believe in taking care of our communities, but we don't believe in forcing someone else to do it. Our aims are similar, our methods different. Of course, our President's aims may be a bit more nefarious, so I won't comment in that regard.

I Was Going to My Brother's House When She Asked Me to Pick up Some Beer

One of the most annoying aspects of political correctness to me is that mankind must be humankind, that he must be she and that gender, unless it is represented as female, is an offense if it is assumed. I give you changes in the Bible. All through law school, I saw in the textbooks how "she" replaced "he" in non-gender specific refrences. I guess mankind isn't a species, only human kind is. Wait, maybe it should be huwoman...or huperson. Or maybe there are a ton of people out there who think the worst thing in the world is that you be able to think freely. There is only goodspeak and badspeak. The 1 and 0 of computer language can be shoved upon us by those who seek to control our thoughts by eliminating words out of language.

Anyone Else Think This is a Bit Creepy?

The President of the United States is set to address a captive audience, every public school child in America. An agenda has been issued for teachers in charge of Pre-K through 6th grade. Considering the indoctrination of children to liberal causes which occurs in this country (everyone remember the Obama chorus or the teacher who browbeat a student over support for Senator McCain?) I'm not real comfortable with President Obama taking the time to mobilize kids too young to know anything other than he is an authority figure.
